Nokia 1650 Blue - £0.00 - FREE when purchased with £30 airtime at Carphone Warehouse + £5 Quidco

Free on the Orange network, I am supposing the phones available at CPW are unlocked whichever network. [Correct me if I am wrong]. Apparently the battery lasts for 17 days, if this is anything like my old Nokia 1100 [ RIP, I loved that phone ], then you could go for a week's holiday to Europe without having to take your charger along!

Update: Airtime can be transferred between orange PAYG sims by calling up CS.

The Nokia 1650 Blue mobile phone is a straightforward handset with a stylish appearance. It's the perfect choice for anyone who wants a phone that's not full of unnecessary features but still wants their phone to be attractive and entertaining..

COLD, SORRY.

Very basic phone, but seems ok for the money.

LOL, that's funny :P

Ya I know you gotta pay £30 quid first, but its airtime which you can use!

the battery last for 7days??? even if u use it??? or u just have to leave it on without using it lol?

this is a good deal (£30 can be used to talk)

an aven better deal if you could find a friend who're using Orange and willing to pay for the top up at a slightly less price (say at £27). This leaves you with a free phone and profit of max £5 (if the airtime can be sold face value and quidco pays)

Cpw quotes 17 days. I am guessing using it would take it down maybe to 10 days, but that's still good. I remember the Nokia 1100 I had used to go on for at least 5 days without needing a charge even when using it to talk now and again.

A good deal and an excellent idea = HOT DEAL

surely the o2 deal beneath that is more worth it? no? works out just under £20? why pay an extra £10?

Coz the extra £10 is airtime. Otherwise you are dishing out money for the phone to CPW.

The deal is only worth it if you are planning on using the airtime or selling it onto someone else as pointed out before.

yeah true! but i just thought that one was more worth while, plus the quidco!

oh well!

plus all the credit is on the sim with the purchase, you cant really sell it individually!

can the credit be transferred to another sim card?

I thought about this, but I have no idea if it can be done. I did transfer virgin airtime between two cards once by calling up CS, but no idea about other networks. Perhaps someone on here can help!

i dont think you can, hence that fact that paying £20 for the o2 is a better deal, IMHO

Yep, it can be transferred! Just call into ORANGE PAYG CS, and they will do it for you. Only between PAYG sim cards though.

Very interested in this but can someone just clarify a couple of points. As this is a PAYG phone I presume that you have no contract and no further financial commitment after the initial £30 if you do not want to? Has the £30 airtime voucher on Orange got an expiry date? Does anyone know of a cheap unlocking site for Orange phones? I would plan to use the airtime on Orange and then transfer my simcard from my old phone into it.
Thankyou for your help.
Phil

got this phone. it's not great. ring tones are not very loud, neither is the radio. good battery life. only good things are colour screen and it doesn't look that cheap. probably worth getting the nokia 1200/1208 if you want a basic phone on virgin for 9.99 + 5 credit or get the virgin 2600 deal which is on this site which is a lot better value
