contact seller to get help with hash file from your phone- you will need to download a special free software to your PC, to connect phone via usb cable to it and you will get a hash code, which need to be sent to service seller to calculate the code.it sounds complicated but it is not and worth to do it as providers sell those codes for 20 quids or even more...

some of newer nokia phones like nokia 225 for £15 now @ Tesco Direct can be unlocked only thru obtaining code from Provider officially- that is the reason I did not post that deal...

Can we Use O2 on Tesco phones ?

Nice price for all you townies. I paid £30 a couple of months back but it had to be returned because it doesn't take Three sims and reception in rural Warwickshire was abysmal. Mine wasn't locked but an EE sim from a small Samsung showing four bars was zero or one bar at best on the Nokia. Nice keyboard and a good simple mobile in those areas where 2G is still good.

Really? My Samsung locked to EE takes Asda Mobile and others. Figures it would work the same the other way round?

A hash file is usually read by specialist software made for unlocking and reflashing phones (Sometimes done by USB other times requires specific cables) but I highly doubt you will get this for free . it basically contains the sim-lock details in which is then cracked using Bruteforce software.

no it will not...no wonder asda sim work with ee locked phone as well as with t-mobile, orange, virgin and some more MVNO.
Tesco Mobile does it differently- they lock all access levels of their phones.

as this model can be connected via usb cable to pc you can do it by yourself, another models like nokia 100 have no usb connectors then a special cable needed to connect...

Thank you! That's a really interesting insight into how providers do their locks.

No! Networks mostly lock handsets to that network code - so any SIM from an operator using that network will work.

MVNOs like Tesco can lock handsets differently - the locking is done on SIM IMSI such that only their own SIMs will work.

So will the £2.55 Ebay unlock work with a Tesco sim, if it is double locked?

I think this idea of "double locking" may be a myth....Tesco phones may well be "single locked" - but to the SIM ID not the network ID!

In any event there is only one unlock code which clears everything.

Looks like such a great phone until you have it in your hand. Bought one last year for my son. Its light feels very plastic like. No substance. The screen is small and awful quality. They were about 29.99 in carphone warehouse last July. We sent ours straight back.

Didn't realise that with Tesco either to be honest? lol.

T-Mobile SIM's work in Asda Phones only cos' Asda piggybacks off of Orange Network to begin with? .. of which both T-Mobile & Orange are '1' now anyway?. :-)

Embarrassed about your mobile?

It is 2G but it does have wi-fi.
