Yeah, but not everyone wants a 'smart phone'. They want a functional phone that's not tied to the charger.

Not that I'll be buying one, in which areas is it inferior to the original?

Fair enough, but why spend £50 when feature phones are usually around the £10-£20 range? Its an overpriced nostalgia play IMO.

I wouldn't say inferior, as technically it's superior. But it's not kept to the design specification of the old 3310.

I honestly can't see why anyone would want such a basic (new) phone at this price.

I think some people would rather not have a smartphone, not have to update apps, not need lots of apps, only want a phone for calls and texts and super long battery life, IMO. It's down to choice.

Such phones can be had for £20
I keep hearing people say these will make a great second phone, what for, drug dealing ? Can't say I've ever been in a position where I would need a second phone.

Also a lot of people say they prefer their old Nokia over their smart phone, well why didn't you just keep the original Nokia in the first place then if it was so good ? Nobody forced you to upgrade to a smart phone !

These will all end up at the back of a cupboard in a few weeks just like the original did and then be sold on eBay for next to nothing.

Yes people will go around using the new Nokia for a couple of days just for bragging rights that they've got the phone that everyone can't get hold of,but once they can't update their Facebook page like they can on their smartphone,it wIll soon be binned off.
They will definitely be an option for kids whose parents are not willing to hand them a fully-fledged smartphone quite yet.
does anyone know if these are locked to Vodafone?
anybody seen the other Nokia's in the wild yet?

Almost certainly locked if direct from Vodafone. Try carphone warehouse for an unlocked variant.
Utter joke, clickbait device, arctic.
You can pick up the original 3310 for £15 at CEX shop if you get lucky. I see one every couple of weeks in the window. This is like remastered Morden warfare which was meant to be exactly like the original but with all the issues fixed etc but it ended up more like a remake and added extras. Not the same.
I just want this for tech off days, as in leave my smart watch and phone home, I just need Bluetooth for the car and have a day without constantly eyeing my mobile.
is the one from Vodafone unlocked?
still available?

Hopefully it will be what the original Nokia basics were, good business phones. Reliable for lone workers so when you need a phone you'll have hours of talk left.
Nice little phone. Very Long battery life, stylish, robust, decent price. Hot.

Why not just have some self control and not look at your phone all the time, and you do know that you can turn off the data on your phone.

Also for people saying how great the battery is,well that's only because this phone hardly does anything,it's not like it's some kind of miracle battery inside it.I know on my Samsung I can turn on the ultra power saving mode which disables most battery draining features which then gives you days of usage and standby. And lets face it,who is ever more than 24 hours away from some sort of socket to charge a phone anyway.

easy fella take a chill pill
I feel like this phone will appeal to two sets of people:

People who want it for the retro value and have managed to overlook the fact that it not only looks almost nothing like the original 3310 but also will end up in their drawer after 30 mins.

People who want a phone just for phone calls that will last for days.

I feel like the former ought to save their money as the sort of people who are into retro phone hardware are probably not the sort of person that has a 'glove box phone' to make emergency calls.

The latter should just buy a £20 Nokia as it will be no worse than this in terms of battery life and if they only want to make phone calls and send texts with T9 then it seems unlikely that they are also into phone nostalgia anyway.
