3g version is £34.99 + £10 top up but reduced battery life. Can someone confirm if you can get the 3g version and turn off 3g as 2g has more than tripple battery life? But then the 3g is there if you need it at a later date. Future proof etc.

All carphone phones are unlocked so can use with any network especially the 3g version

Wasn't this posted 2 days ago for £19.99 not requiring any top up?

As in you can't turn off 3g? So it would only use 2g if 3g wasn't available? o2 will only unlock after 12 months and not even for a fee. I asked them on live chat thats what they said

No think poster is referring to handset locked for 3 months then free unlock and o2 chat is right - 12m -

I would imagine 3G can be switch off to save battery. I know you can switch data off but unsure if a 2G only setting, manual:

Thanks mate can't see anything about it. I rue the days smart phones took over. They are just computers with a phone attached to it.
