I don't know why they are charging so much more for the dual SIM version!

Probably because you can save yourself a ton of £ by using 2 Sim Cards as opposed to 1. All of the carriers hate this as they lose.

just been into carphonewharehouse lookes like a beautiful phone.

Do you have to cancel the topup within 30 days?

Been looking at getting a new phone and I can't see why you would get this over the Moto G5?

They are very similar, but the Moto has better resolution and removable battery (not sure if that is a benefit). Nokia has a compass and higher MP front camera.

Some reviews have it benching higher, but I doubt you would see any real world benefit.

Oh, just noticed this does have NFC though..

The Nokia will and has been getting regular updates.

Ah, OK. Still think the lack of FHD screen is a killer.

Thanks. Cashback only looks to be 2% now though.

Yep, of course you are correct...I was still looking at the O2 rates while checking out the moto G5 deal.

I went with the G5 in the end, but I did debate the N5. It's a nice phone to hold and look at. Feels a little more premium.

Maybe I have really poor eyesight, but I have a Moto G5 Plus (5.2in but 1080p) and helped my MiL get one of these and the actual difference in the screen *really* doesn't seem that noticeable to me at all. It's a nice looking phone and screen is fine. A number of people have said it's as much about the colour tuning as the pixel count, but you can't put that in a spec sheet can you.

Reasons to get the Nokia 5 over the Moto G5:
Bigger screen
Gorilla Glass (my wife's G5 screen cracked within a fortnight)
Much better update protocol
Possibly better reliability though track-record is new (but Lenovo quality control is poor)

Reasons to get the Moto G5:
I Love the one-button Nav (a lot of people don't)
Higher pixel count
erm....

It seems Nokia have learned some lessons from the previous Moto Gs that Len...Motorola have forgotten.

Good phone, feels premium for the price you pay.

I downgraded from an iPhone 7 to the Nokia 5 (after a revelation that I don't need to spend £50 a month on a phone). The screen is fine,Pixel per inch isn't much lower than the iPhone. Viewing angles are good, colours are good and it can get very bright so easily readable outdoors.

Its a cracking phone for the price.

Nokia seem to have a good update record so far and the device looks much better than the motorola and you can use android pay (if you are in to that) Thats probably the main reason to get it over the Moto.

edit. Just remembered another reason I got the Nokia over the moto. If you are on EE, the Nokia supports both Wifi Calling and VoLTE as Nokia have implemented Androids carrier settings correctly. Only a handful of phones not bought direct from EE can do this. (ee.co.uk/hel…ing

how is the camera and battery? Coming from Moto G3 it must be a little better?

£129

Be aware that there is a major multi-tasking bug introduced in the 7.1.2 update, and it remains in the November patch update. If you get the phone, don't allow it to update. The 7.1.1 September Update is the last fully working build.

They have stated that a fix is incoming, but it probably won't be until December Security, or with the Oreo update.

They don't have much in common with the Lumia series, other than good build quality.

The Nokia 5 feels just like the Lumia 720, only made out of metal instead of plastic.

Thanks, nice to know, I think I will stick with my Nokia Lumia 920 for as long as I can then.

I have looking at getting this in the CPW deal. Looks much more premium than the Moto G5 and with regular monthly updates it looks like a good deal.

I wish I had gone for this now instead of the G5. The latter looks and feels cheap in the hand. Shoddy build quality too. This year's Nokia devices are vastly superior in that regard.

It's no way £30 quid better. I'd still get the G5 if this was £99.

I would yeah, but I'd rather have something that looks better and has a more premium feel. The G5 feels cheaper than the Honor Holly I got three years ago for £60. The 3GB version of the G5 is the best to go for if you can get it around this price though.

The Nokia 5 is (still?) available from CPW for £109 including £10 top up and before £5 TCB. Just got one for an Xmas present for someone and it feels and looks great. Moto G5 *may* have faster charging and does higher pixel count and the really nice one-button-nav feature but this feels like a better phone (and has Gorilla Glass - reason for present is because a Moto G5 cracked within a fortnight of purchase). I have experience of both. It might be close whether this beats the Moto G5 but I suspect the next iteration will beat Lenovo's offerings hands-down.

Is it possible to sell the £10 top up on eBay?

Is it possible to sell the £10 top up on eBay?

About to look into that myself when I get a chance. I think so...

So I picked up a Nokia 5 today from CPW. Early impressions are very good, well built and nice size. The camera is OK, coming from an Honor 6X it's a step back but the build quality is a huge step up.

This or the Huawei P8 Lite? It's for light use

How is the battery? It gets mixed reviews from so called experts.

So far so good, been off charge since 8ish this morning and around 20% left. I haven't used very much today though.

Screen quality is fine as well which was one of my concerns. The build quality is excellent for a phone of this price. I compared against the MOTO G in-store and although the screen is.much brighter and crisper on the G is felt terrible in comparison.

Which colour did you get? Has your USB lead marked the casing already? Mine did on first charge

I went for blue, I haven't used the one in the box due to already having one by the the side of the bed. I do find that they do get marks over time, I would of been gutted though if it was day 1.

Have you got a case or protector yet?
