Good price.

Oreo beta has just been released for this.

I'd recommend keeping it on 7.1.1 though as there is a major memory management bug which was introduced in 7.1.2 and they haven't fixed it in the 8.0.0 beta :-(
It was this price about 3 weeks ago.

Quality phone
After a new phone for my mam for Christmas, only wanted to spend around £150 as shes not a total tech head. Is the j5 2017 a better choice than this? Shes currently got a Nokia but its dreadful, around 3years old I think.
Like that they put stock android on this and don’t add their own skin or apps.
Is the camera good?

How easy are these to unlock to other networks?
Good deal. Take heat for stock Android. Could be a good phone for kids.
Ordered this from CPW when it was on offer on Black Friday for the same price - I bought the silver. it's a nice phone I'm pleased with it, it has some weight to it. It worked with an EE sim even though it was bought with an o2 topup as was the cheapest option then, so assuming they are all unlocked ? Another family member has J5 and I prefer the Nokia 5 but it's personal choice as they are very similar in specs / size

Great phone for this price, plus the copper version is gorgeous.

They're sim-free handsets like all Carphone stock.

I am in the same situation - this or the J5?
Great to see Nokia back. Shame they can't make their own software. But like everything things change and droid won't be around forever. Nothing is! Love the nokia 3310 too

As carphone has one stock and you could buy voda, o2, ee etc... It's easier to have to stock unlocked. Otherwise it would be a nightmare in their stock room lol
Is the deal expired? It says £129 on the site.

That's the SIM Free price, the deal is for Pay As You Go (go to the pay as you go section of the cpw site).

Great, thank you!
Which would be better, this or a huawei p8 lite?

Which would be better, this or a huawei p8 lite?

p8lite is quite a bit better spec so it'll last longer software wise, but it's way more likely to break physically. and is more expensive. tough choice really those are the two i'd shortlisted.

Neither set the world alight with their specs, but the Nokia 5 looks and feels like a premium phone, it also has much better software and updates which make it run great (worth more than a few small spec bumps to me).

Neither has a good camera. In real world situations they perform similarly, the Nokia 5 has received a couple of software updates which have improved image quality since the GSMArena tests were completed (July 2017).
Thanks for the heads up. Smashed my screen on my phone a few weeks ago and missed when this was on offer during Black Friday. Was hesitant to then pay the £150 it went back up to but have gone for this at this price, being delivered tomorrow ☺ heat added

So sorry, I didn't see the small writing at the bottom that was for PAYG. Rookie error. Purchased!
