3 are just in the process of trying to charge me 300 quid for technical calls while made outside of the country because their system would not let me send text messages from abroad. This has happened on 3 holidays now over 18 months. Every time they say the sla on a fix is 21 days and that when I get back to the UK they are unable to identify the problem. Apparently they want me to book a holiday that lasts more than 21 days.

They are absolute idiots - DO NOT TOUCH THEM

Good deal IMHO.

hi,how can i use ref n quidco together?

Thanks shine1290, great deal. Was pondering over upgrading recently and this was a scorcher ;).

@tuhin_786: Quidco says it won't work with a voucher, but my transaction tracked. Not sure whether they can decline it later though (Quidco's £55 for this deal).

@Stuart_B: Sounds like you had a bad experience, but I haven't found any carrier that don't have some kind of complaints against them. In order to use your phone abroad, you do need to contact three and ask them to enable it for international calls/texts. It took me a 5 minute phonecall, so not sure if it was the same problem.
You need to ask them to activate "Roaming Services" as it mentions here three.co.uk/Hel…hly

Note to others: This is a cheap but good value phone, which does NOT have wifi access. So I'd advise you go with the internet for this offer rather than the texts (unless the Mix&Match 700 credit really won't be enough for texts for you of course).

Nahh - it wasnt that - Im a technical person, I understand roaming and such. Theyd forgotten to set some parameter within their internal systems when they transferred my PAC. I could make/receive calls (hence the 300 quid) and receive texts but could not send them.

After 12 months and 4 holidays of trying they assure me they have now sorted it but Ive heard that 3 times before.

Technically, they are retards. Customer service is appalling and reception drops out more than any other phone network Ive used. I cant wait for novemeber when my contract is up.

They have however cancelled the £250 of calls while I was away which are dealt with under this bill. However, I had to make a note in my diary to ring them back to get this taken off after my bill had come out - they could not do it automatically. I now have to wait until 12th of next month and ring them again to get another 70 quid call that was on the same holiday but that had breached my billing period. God bless automation and IT systems. Why make it easier when you can rely on a customer cocking up and forgetting.
