Just for reference, this is the deal from before

hotukdeals.com/ite…one

With the £6.50 possible cashback from QUIDCO this brings it in under £60

Personally I prefered the white one after seeing it (and yes, missing out on the ASDA deal)

Yes, you have to buy a £10 top up with it, but what are you going to do with a phone with no monies on it anyway.

Answer... loads, this phones plays music, takes photos and has GPS, all without the need of the cash in your pocket. If you don't think that free GPS is a good deal, get lost!

However I can't understate the importance of having money on you're phone, otherwise you can only call 999 and 112; thats no fun, because they're busy people, even if you have the time to call them. Don't do it HUKDers.

By a phone with credit, save a life, you know its the right thing to do.

Well I was going to put an Orange sim in as they change £89.95 (+ £10 top up) for the same thing on Orange, so a Voda sim with 10 quid on it is not use to me. BUT it is a very good price...

Ahh, true...

I'm not sure if the top up would come as a separate card that you could sell, even the sim would be worth something to someone I'm sure. eBay it?

I've seen reports that your credit card is linked to the sim/credit (I don't know if that's right or not), but I'm not taking the risk of passing it on and letting someone use my ££ to top up with...

Ahh, if true, thats probably pretty sensible, thanks for the heads up (I'm on a pay as you go Orange, and was just going to switch) but if I thought of selling it, and staying on orange, thats useful to be aware of

you can use sim credits to pay for parking....

I assume the phone is locked.

Probably not, they do it on most network. their stock is (as a rule) unlocked unless it's a network specific handset. They just drop in the sim you order.

Even if it is, you're still covered by the distance selling regs, you can send it back in side 7 for a refund (but I wouldn't use the sim it comes with, some dealer won't take them back if you do).

As said above, they're selling this phone on every network, logistically I'd say it makes sense that they're all unlocked.

So.... whats the phone actually like? Not bothered about the Music function, which i thought was its primary purpose, but i do have unlimited data on my contract (orange) so was thinking of getting this just for the internet capabilities.

This is also available from Dialaphone in purple/black.I have ordered one .One of these has been delivered to a chap that has posted on the last page of the expired Asda thread & has tried different sims & all work.So probably safe to assume these are unlocked.

You need to add £10 to the price for the topup

Good price, heat added, though I wouldn't personally buy from dial-a-phone.

:w00t:How exactly?

Its a nice phone as long as you don't want wifi or a great camera (its only a 2 meg and far from the best on the market). But if you don't need either of those and want a touchscreen then its a good buy.
The Free Ovi maps is very good, just got it on my N86. No need to buy Tomtom now !

There’s no way the SIM is linked to your credit card so that someone can use it to deduct funds from your card!
There are banking services available via mobile phone networks, used in Africa a lot I believe, but you would surely need to authorise that in advance.

I also bought the White 5320 on Vodafone and can confirm that it’s unlocked and has no branding; received it today.
It’s a mix of silver and white and comes with a spare cover that is black.

It wasn't that people could take money as such, but that the card was linked to the payg acc as the default payment method.

As I said, I haven't confirmed this, it was just something I read a while ago on, I think, MSE. But could well be wrong. . .

I ordered last Thursday and the initial email said delivery would be Tuesday but it came the next day. I was using it last night to remotely control my PC.

Very impressed so far apart from the radio; poor reception and when I touch the screen there’s interference. I doubt I’ll use the radio but I am wondering if it’s faulty.

i'll check mine when it eventually turns up. thanks for the heads up mate.

I'm presuming from the replies that the white ones are unlocked? But what about purple? It's the same price on Vodafone, but that is the only network that they have in stock... ?

Same phone, same Network so a good chance that it's also unlocked.

Just ordered the purple one. Fingers crossed.

Received black one and can confirm its locked to voda. I reckon white one is unlocked from what i read. Just bought unlock code from e.bay for 7.99.

I got my white one too. Unlocked, just tried a 3 SIM card. There is a car suction mounter and some decent looking headphones and a spare black cover - but only the back cover! This is funny - anyone got the WHOLE black case as a spare?
There were prints over it as they installed the SIM and did a test call.
A nice surprise - 2GB micro SD was fitted in!
Thanks!
