The Nokia 5300 phone is designed with a cool sliding keypad and has music buttons at the side of the front display.

Carrying the XpressMusic name, the Nokia 5300 looks great, especially with the clever dedicated multimedia keys. There's a 65,000 colour display, a 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD memory expandable to 2Gb, Bluetooth, a stereo FM radio and an MP3 player in a package weighing 104 grams.

I was just going to ask if anyone knew if this was locked, as the only provider I get a signal with where I live is Vodafone. Anyone know if it is difficult , or how , to unlock this phone if it is locked ?

Doesn't Virgin 'piggyback' on the T-Mobile network, though? If so, maybe best not to assume that this really is open to all networks.

That's correct T-Mobile and Virgin sims will work in the same phones so don't assume it is unlocked

thanks for the tip:)

this phone is £20 more from t mobile and you have to top it up (£10) so buy from play:thumbsup:

Just thought I'd add the link to the Sunday Times review (Dec 06) when it was £200 according to them. It came out the best overall for a hybrid phone/music player.

The Sony Ercsson K750i isn't much more but has a better camera etc.

I bought this phone for christmas for my gf but she had to take it back 4 times because of a problem with the sim card reader. Also know a few people who have had the same problem.

Two guys in my office at work have it and neither of them have experienced it yet.

My old Siemens kept saying "SIM error" because the SIM slot became loose after a while. I had to fold a little strip of paper and place it under the battery where the SIM sat to keep it down. After doing that it was fine.

Still around..

Unlocked, worked straight off with a TESCO sim PAYG. Dead easy to use. Takes up to 2GB sd card, available for less than 20 quid. Holds 100s of songs. Easiest to copy mp3s staright on, or you can convert into a more compact size, but that takes ages. Needs recharging everyday, if mp3s get played for more than a few hrs. Good radio. Takes standard headphones via adaptor. Cost about 70 quid in all including the extra card. bargain!
