First deal from me - so be AS NASTY AS YOU LIKE!

Was looking into buying the nokia 5530 sim-free at 130 to use on my existing O2 simplicity contract, but when I checked out the price at mobiles.co.uk, it actually worked out cheaper than my existing o2 simplicity deal (and with more texts), and best of all, you actually get the phone for free

Breakdown:

Free phone - Nokia 5530
- 300 mins
- Unlimited texts

Contract duration = 12 months
Price per month = 35 pounds with 7 months for free

Effective price per month = ( 5*35 ) / 12 = £14.58

The phone also comes with a 4gb micro SD card.

Note that the price will actually be slightly cheaper due to the cut in VAT which is effective until January 2010

mobiles.co.uk also have the same deal but with unlimited internet for £20/pm

Is this a cashback deal?

It is a cashback deal, yes.

Looking around this forum, it looks like mobiles.co.uk are pretty good with issuing the cashback.

From their website:

lutin - where have you seen this phone sim free for £130, can you post a link?

so it's 6x£35 =£280 before you start getting the cashback. (not automatic)

thanks buddy

do vodaphone definitely come unlocked?

Original Poster

It is definitely unlocked according to "macduff"'s post on this forum:

forum2.mobile-review.com/sho…146

I have read elsewhere that it's unlocked too.

redemption

By the way, all of our handset pages tell you if it's unlocked - see the 4 green ticks in the middle? Stock, delivery, insurance, unlocked.

Regards,

Quidco are also offering £50.00 Cashback if you order this phone. Great deal. I may order one in the morning. I have the Samsung Tocco at the moment and hate it.

Absolutely correct. Carphone Warehouse have an exclusivity deal on this phone for 6 weeks.

got one from cpw yesterday on payg - they are unlocked and unbranded. Nice phone, but i can see it may take some getting used to and not suitable for all. Wifi is great

Can you give any more details? Who would or would it not be suitable for? I still haven't purchased this phone. What provider are you with and how much did it cost you?

i'm on o2. Phone was £129 + £10 for a vodaphone sim. The phone comes unlocked as they give you the payg sim pack seperately.

Played with the phone for a few hrs - good points: touch screen very sensitive, wifi is great, small phone

not so good points: couldn't silence the alarm (turns out you just have to turn the phone around - so my fault really, but not great at 4am!) browsing the web takes a little getting used to - ended up hitting wrong links unintentionally a few times. The wallpaper/themes can't be switched off - currently looking into the manual to find a way

but all in all, a great little phone with some useful features. My first touch screen

quidco also offering £50 specifically for this phone. Think i'm going to roder it.

12 * 20 for the net package = 240

- 50 quid co and might sell the phone as I'm happy with my n95 which I might get 175 for after costs so the contract could work out to £15 for 12months!!

Seems like a good deal, will ask the wife if i can have 1:thumbsup:

So hang on..let me get this right the phone is £35 a month for 5 months (other 7 months free)making it £175 and then you get £50 cashback through quidco...am i right?:?

with the free line rental and quidco cashback works out at just over a tenner a month, bargain!

6x35=210.......you'll need to brush up on your 35-timestable:)

Can't see a 12 month o2 contract, they're all either 18 or 24 month.

Edit: oh ok i see now, deal is on vodafone contract not o2.

just make note..... this phone is NOT 3G

good prices though....

After ordering I get an email saying out of stock... funny thing is that their website still states it is in stock.

I guess I will buy from somewhere else then. Poor communication... waste of time.

H&R added, got my phone today and it is IMPRESSIVE. It is 'IN STOCK' and got the FREE JABRA as well.

Why is this EXPIRED? Ordered mine last Thursday 27th, arrived Saturday 29th. Looks like a great phone, touch screen is as responsive as iPOD Touch, certainly a lot better than LG Renoir.
