Very hot! any quidco?

Original Poster

quidco only for contract phones, sorry! :?

this phone just keeps on getting cheaper and cheaper by the month...how much further down can the price go

Original Poster

I just bought one for myself because I lost my N95 8GB ;-) Not too happy, was using a k750i for the last few days and the return key, 7, 8 and 9 stopped working! K750 met a brick wall....

you really should state that its a clearance model, especially after alot of people returning the ones from esave!

When I try and go to checkout, it starts asking all sorts of questions date of birth and so on
why do they do this if its a pay as you go phone ?

Cheers
Andy

"Unlocked Handset

This handset is not locked to any one network, meaning that if you travel abroad you are free to use a local SIM card for cheaper in-country calls. Once your contract minimum term has expired you can also easily re-use this handset with a Pay As You Go SIM card from any network.

I have one and am very happy with it but loking around the newsgroups a lot are being returned for badly fitting panels. Maybe this is why there are so many clearance / refurbs

R.

Hot from me

cool man, seems to be getting a tenner cheaper each week, might nave to wail a few more weeks..

Hot. Maybe You should add clearance to the title.

Just received one from this company. Non original box with instructions and all accessories. Phone and the rest are mint and look new.

Hmmm, whats the definition of clearence?
If these are returns/refurbs then I aint interested

I have this phone and really like it. Resistive touchscreen can be a bit annoying when using fingers to touch when typing, but if you use your nail its very good. Texting is very good also, and i use the alphanumeric keypad on the screen (like a normal phone dial pad). It is also good for internet browsing via wifi and also HSDPA (3.5g) which is very fast. Overall, it is not as good as the iphone imo, but you are not paying the ridiculous premium for the product. Also, there are many good apps for the phone if u look around on forums e.g. the dailymobile forums are a very good resource for phone help and apps.

Still using my k750i and works so well finding it hard to replace. though the price of this is tempting

I take it this doesn't come with the 8GB card?

The spec page says:

What's in the box?

* Instruction Manual
* Standard Li-ion Battery
* Mains Charger

So, I'd say no, and no case, spare stylus or lead set. . .

its cheap because its rubbish.
symbian is so bad

so for £140, whats better on the market?

Do you own it? Been lots of positive reviews, very tempted almost want a reason not too buy it.

an unsupported assertion not borne out by the majority of reviews / users. I'm no fanboy (do you have an iphone) but it does everything I want and does it very well.

i have had one of these for 3 months, best phone ive ever had. Beats the Iphone hands down.

I did have to get my 1st one replaced, as the battery wouldnt hold a charge, but have had no problems with the 2nd one. I know 10 people who now have these phones, with no problems.

Dont bother with the nokia gps software, get Amaze gps instead (google it)

Great phone for music, video, internet, email etc, and its a decent phone too lol

those who bought from mobiles.co.uk, can you tell me what is the trim/strap color of this phone? is it red, blue, or silver? thanks

does anyone know if this has a built in modem like the n95 8gb?can't tell by looking ant the spec sheet,my n95's got a crack down the side right next to the screen and a chunk missing out the bottom, too many drunken nights out,oh and the sliders been beer lubricated so it's not as slidy :-(

Ok the reason this phone is geting cheaper by the week is,because the nokia n97 is now due for release round the corner in june, also the new iphone and a lot more handsets are due for release in june, but i think this handset is quite crap the touch is not very responsive iphone much better, the camera is very poor !

I bought my 5800 from e2save last week - for £159.99. Very happy with it. I'd definitely recommend installing Opera Mini web browser on it though - much better than what's on there. Easy to install and free. Also, google maps works really well on the 5800 - even street view. :-) And make sure the phone has the latest firmware - available from the Nokia website.

Virgin allowed me to transfer the £10 included with the new sim that came with the e2save deal to my virgin account too.

I'd agree the camera is poor - I was surprised at how poor the pics are - its main weakness I've found by a long way. Wouldn't agree that it isn't responsive though - the phone works really well with the latest firmware.

Don't buy this phone. I bought this phone 2 weeks ago. Very cheap plastic. I took the stylus out and put it in, that's it, the back cover broke and will not close. Touch sensitivity very poor. Only good thing is music. Stongly recommended not to buy even if it is free.

So you tested the phone thoroughly then?

Is it possible to run a Windows Application on this phone - i'm thinking of memory-map

SuperFlyBlues;5203706

Yes. I used this phone for a week and returned. This phone is not good. That's why the price is coming down so quickly.

I've had this phone for 2 weeks now and I love it!!!

where can u download the opera mini web browser from...linky please

The price might be dropping on these handsets to make way for the Comes with Music branded ones which are coming out. The price will most likely go back up for the 5800 once these original stocks run out.

I owned three (yes, three) of these phones and was thoroughly disappointed with them.

They each had the same fault where the microphone intermittently cut out when using loudspeaker, which got annoying after a while!
It seems to have quite a cheap 'feel' to it - it doesnt feel like it's built as well as other Nokia phones i've previously owned.

Texting is very very difficult with it, with the resistive touchscreen (no multi-touch either so there's a small delay if you can text fast on it) and the only realistic way to text if using fingers is to use the landscape full qwerty mode.

Probably worth £100 PAYG imo, so this isnt bad for the price, so voted hot.
However, as mine was on contract with O2 I swapped it in for a BlackBerry Bold, which is much nicer (but also much more expensive on PAYG!).

GPS works well on it (google maps though, as Nokia Maps is only a trial before you have to pay for it), as does music. Internet browsing could be a bit better, as could the responsiveness of it - it's not that fast for a S60 OS 9.1 smartphone!

Also, I don't think it can handle windows mobile apps, only .SIS apps which are for the Symbian operating system it uses.
