Just got my new Nokia 5800 on Virgin for free on a £12 a month 18month deal. I am an existing virgin media customer. I have their tV and phone and broadband, level M. Really pleased with phone. Dialled 789 from phone and spoke to cancellations, chap could not believe the deal!

150 minutes , 250 texts and 100 virgin to virgin minutes, spoke to cancellations as my contract was up for renewal, but does not lapse until Jan 7th

I was wondering as i am on a sim only deal with virgin where i get 300 mins and 300 texts a month for £10, so i think i will stick with that.

I am in the same boat as you, I just phoned virgin and they said to get this deal you have to pay £56 for the phone:?

For £18 they would give me the phone free with 200 minutes and unlimited texts.

Hi chrisbf1
You've left me a bit befuddled
You have posted the link as Virgin Media but you have posted the merchant as Telewest Broadband
Could you give us a bit more information about this "deal"
Thanks

well for £18 i got from virgin anokia 5800 and 250 minutes 3000 text and unlimited internet now thats a bargain

marco67, in addition to the £56 for the phone, did you have to commit to an 18 mth contract to keep the 300 + 300 sim?

Thanks

No, I said I was cancelling the 300 + 300 sim and then mentioned what the op quoted.

The deal I posted it just standard on their website, no discount for existing customers.

Are you looking for an 18 month deal as well as keeping on the 300 + 300?

"Cancellation" aka 'Customer Retentions' will offer a whole host of offers to 'save' customers i.e. avoid churn. Everything is based on monthly spend hence every offer is not available to every customer. The offers I've had over the years include £30 off per month, and a free samsung phone on an 18 month contract with 100 mins+200 texts for free every month (just pay for additional calls).

Hi marco67.

Thanks for the prompt response. I'm on the 300 + 300 sim only mthly contract. would prefer to keep this @ £10 pm but as I'm not a heavy user (barely get through 100 mins and texts every month) would be willing to take a reduced allowance. The 150 minutes , 250 texts and 100 virgin to virgin minutes OP stated would be more than enough for me, would prefer a 12 mth deal but would be willing to sign up for 18 mths if I can get the 5800 for free considering the total cost of the contract would be £196

Was that on retention too?

Just a heads up, when looking at the 5800 on virgin mobile site, the phone says as good as new so are they all refurbs or second hand?
