Great price. Need to use PLANW09 to get it at his price as normally £160 (thanks to mills85). I know that Play.com periodically have this phone for £160 but I just got it with the £5 off and thought that people may appreciate the heads-up.

New with 8GB Card

Yes, forgot to mention thanks. I am going to buy a skin to protect it and will make sure that it is black.

it also states this includes an 8gb sd card

thanks - updated

I bought mine about 2months ago from Prepay Mania for £149, including 8gb card.

Bought a black silicone case off eBay with a screen protector - looks good

Can this be unlocked easily?? Been looking for this and next best price is around £200?

Does the GPS work OK ?
Looks like a nice phone - I have a Nokia E61i which has a keypad and enjoy texting .. is it as easy to text (writing correct english not just txt) on this phone ?

The main reason for me to buy this is the screen for browsing .. ie. THIS site .. the screen on the E61i is good but tiny.
I use Opera which is nice and zooms in an out very quickly with 3G. What is the browser (assume I could still use Opera) and is it neat ? (easy for viewing, easy for zooming, scrolling etc).

I have seen the Iphone 3GS, which is very nice but so expensive

Just a note - Opera mini, on mobile phones reduces the amount of data downloaded, and thus lowers potential browsing costs, or keeps you within your limit more easily. The Opera browser for desktop now also has 'Turbo' mode, which does a similar thing, best for slow networks.

Btw, Opera mini works on the Nokia 5800.

And Quidco from Play, but use of vouchers will likely invalidate this, so check which discount is the best for you.

Thanks for the reply .. I have unlimited usage so don't mind but IE was rubbish on my E61i

What is the built in browser and I take it that it is widescreen and smooth .. unlike IE ?

I got this phone mainly for its GPS and it works well

Thanks .. good to know :-)

Had a look on the web and the inbuilt browser (assume IE) is not that good but Opera is ..

It looks like the one I use in the E61i only nicer in widescreen :-)

This page of a 5800 thread is by far the most useful 'snapshot' I have seen on these forums especially with regards to unlocking networks and GPS funtionality (expired offer) :

£15 here: fonefunshop.co.uk/Unl…htm
plus the cost of sending them the phone of course.
pay attention to the bit at the bottom of the page though, about sl3 phones.. if you phone is an sl3 phone (not sure if 5800's are or not...) then it'll cost more like £30-40

A local phone shop can probably do it for roughly the same cost too.
