Had that problem yesterday, today it went through fine

I called them up, they would only offer me it for free on a £35 per month tariff, despite me telling them that i can get ot for 1/2 that at carphone warehouse.

Just called up retentions, lovely guy called Mike offered me the same deal as the op, really pleased.
Have some heat and rep.

Hiya,

Thanks for the feedback. Im glad you got through to the right person.

Remember folks when you get put through to 'Upgrades' tell them you want to cancel your contract (obviously you need to be in the last month of your current contract).

Remember to do a bit of homework online and get an idea of what you can get else where and it helps a lot if you see what phones you are interested in.

Just spoken to o2 and managed to get this deal, upgraded from 4 months on simplicity to 600mins -1000 texts and unlimited web + the fone
Thank you !

Thanks pablo:thumbsup:

cheers, just moved from simplicity sim only on £20 a month, to a free nokia 5800 on £20 a month (600 mins 1000 text and unlimited internet - i asked if there was a fair use policy and she said no!! - wahey!!) thanks op, heat added!!!:thumbsup:

EDIT: they wouldnt give me the high street vouchers, any advice?? btw it was an 18 month contract, but thats ok!!

EDIT EDIT!! : rang 0800 0288151 (Upgrades/Disconnections/Retentions) - goes straight thru to an operator - caught me by suprise lol!!!

If it helps - Carphone Warehouse have an offer for free Nokia 5800 with 100 mins and unlimited texts on O2 for £15 per month.

It's a 24 month contract though - and be careful with O2 as we've had problems with them changing the deal halfway through the contract without even telling us!

How, can you please explain this deal ?

How is this hot? It will basically be the same deal you can get on most networks after being in a previous 12 or 18 month contract with them.

I renewed with orange for basically the same, but got HTC Diamond phone instead.

i reckon it is, ive been with o2 since july 2007 but that was on a sim only 28-day contract, so i guess its worth a go if ur not with o2 or just pay as you go!! if ur with a different operator im sure theres more of a reason to try and get u to join them!! so maybe more perks?! :?

im not gona get into an argument lol but i much prefer o2 than orange, especially on coverage!! and to get such a new fone on a £20 deal with free internet is not that bad!! and the fact i wasnt even on a long-term contract with o2 (just a sim only 28 day) is absolutely brilliant! i didnt even hav to say where i saw the offer, kinda wonderin if i could hav got it for less lol :?

They're getting good with deals now.. I'm on simplicity and I called a few days back to enquire about upgrades... they offered me either:

Nokia E71 (free) with 600 mins, 1000 txt and data for £20/month for 18 mths
Blackberry Bold + Bluetooth headset (£48) with 600 mins, 1000 txt and data for £20/month for 18 mths

Now considering my currently simplicity is costing me £20 for 600mins/1000txt + data, they're basically throwing in a great phone for either free or £50, just to get me to tie down to 18 months which i probably would do anyway.

The retentions guy on the phone said they'd had a wave of reductions in response to the recession etc..

I'm on a rolling sim £20 contract and wanna get onto a 18months cintract so i can get a decent phone.
I don't really want a touch phone as i'm a bricklayer.
any1 got any idea's what phone i should go for?

heat and rep added
cheers

gutted not 4 new customers

upgrade sorted
stayed on 02 200 contract
200 mins 400 txt
and unlimited 02 to 02
and got it for 15 quid a month insead of 25 on 18 month contract
used the phones for u 15 quid tmobile deal which is only 100 mins and texts as my example to get the deal
thanks OP heat added and rep coming too

Have just posted in a separate deal, but you can also get this phone on a 12 MONTH t-mobile contract with 300 mins and 200 texts for £15.42 per month after cashback....

hotukdeals.com/ite…ac/

The problem i have with this phone is it feels very plastic i think if i dropped it, it would smash anyone else feel this way?

Was on the phone with O2 for the past 25 minutes. Couldn't get the offer you guys mentioned, best I could get was 400 minutes and free O2 to O2 minutes with unlimited texts for £20. Told them I'd call again later.

They said that it's not even possible for me to get the deal you guys mentioned kinda gutted!
