Title says it all. This is what you get:
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Handset (NOT clearance/refurbished)
8GB microSD memory card, Battery, Stylus plectrum in wrist strap, Music Headset, Portable Stand, Video-Out cable, Charger, User Guide

Being a PAYG, I presume it would be locked to Voda .. but the price already includes a £10 top-up .. so you could, in theory, add another £10 topup and get Voda to unlock phone for you (they charge £20 to unlock AFAIK .. please correct me if I'm wrong on this).

Dont forget Quidco 3.5%. First deal submission so pls be kind with remarks.

From reading the reviews on play.com it appears these are blue handsets mate .. and unlocking could take longer than a week if Voda have to request it from Nokia (as they do sometimes). You probably could get it unlocked quickly from your local mobile shop though.

Yeah they have the red ones on play.com for £199.99 which is a bit of a difference, annoyingly so. They are unlocked but was hoping somewhere would have them a bit cheaper

these were £150 a week or so ago. i was considering getting one but i'll wait until they drop in price again.

Paid £170 last week for one. It's blue, and it's locked to Vodafone.

Great phone, well worth the money!

To those that have this phone - Do you find it sometimes switches itself off? Starting to really annoy me now.

Should i send it back?

[FONT=Verdana]You might want to consider installing the latest firmware from the Nokia website, as I think that resolves it - you'd be best to research this (i.e. a search via Google) to confirm that one before you do anything.

think its been up and down at this price for a while...usually when Play notice a run on it, up she goes to £169...lol

[FONT=Verdana]Here's a link to a quick search I've done via Google UK Shopping for a Nokia 5800 Red Mobile Phone between £100.00p to £170.00p in price.

Nokia 5800 Red - Google Product Search
google.co.uk/pro…g=p

There's one listed as clearance via OBIL.co.uk for £159.95p (including a T-Mobile £10.00p Top-up) but I've never heard of them before now - they're website layout looks like E2Save.co.uk though so I would double-check IF you do buy it.

I had a problem with the screen going scrambled and off. I tried updating the software etc. Still no joy. I dropped it off for repair at my nearest nokia care point last Friday. I'm still waiting.....:-(

This is a badass phone. I love it more everyday.

£10 top up included??? someone tell me if thats true cos i just bought a 5800 voda payg (blue) from play and all there was the standard £1 on the sim.
Have i missed out on something or the op was lucky??

[FONT=Verdana]Perhaps you got shafted my friend! :whistling:

Joking aside I would assume there are differences, as the Red version of the Nokia 5800 is at a more expensive price based on earlier posts that I saw on HUKDLs but could be wrong - have you queried this with Play at all?

Edit - I can't see the Blue model anymore other than the Simfree option as a second-hand purchase option.

It should do - put an ASDA SIM in my phone and it's ok, not a 5800 though ;-)

Graham

The blue model is just ugly. Get the red or silver version.

hot cheers

Wouldn't want to disappoint her then :w00t:

1) Blue or Red?
2) Asda sim will work with it? (cos Asda uses Vodafone network)
3) Vodafone branded?

It's my understanding that Vodafone no longer lock their phones -- my HTC Hero certainly came unlocked from them. Or does that only apply to contract phones?

vodafone tend to do blue
unlocked phones will work with asda
yes, logo under buttons

Can anyone confirm that these phones are now coming unlocked?? Would love to have one but cant be bothered with trying to get them unlocked.

Cheers, ephaedrus

if it helps anyone, I've just bought a red version on clearance at e2save for £149.99 plus £10 top up. I have been told by the Sales Team that they are unlocked and are as new with 12 month warranty. I have had clearance phones from them before and they are like new.

It also tracked £7.50 on Quidco.

Could you please give us more info on that please mate ... I thought remote unlocking (other than through service provider/Voda) wasn't possible with this phone. Thanks.

Theres numerous sellers on ebay who can do it by getting a code from voda.
Voda is probably one of the easiest to do,enter code job done!
BTW did you get a £10 topup with your voda nok 5800 from play.com???
