Apprantely these can be unlocked via remote unlockers not via the old code entry way... whether the bb05 unlockers can unlock this with the right cable I don't know...

Thanks very much for the invitation to post.

In answer to your question, yes I know and yes I have unlocked many of the recent models, 6070 is easy to unlock.

I wouldn't say rubbish, more basic and a little dated.

Bit of a coincidence this being posted today. Had a phone call this morning from a 70+ year old relative who's mobiles given up him. He was about to go through to Carphonewarehouse to be 'sold' a mobile.

This at £29.99 is an step up from his old Nokia 3410 and is simple to use.

Reserved one - Picked up - Unlocked using Road_hog's link  .

Happy relative - Job done

Right, well get your **** in to gear and push the rep button.

It's your choice, but what happens is, next time you want help you'll just get the first answer.

Well I gave you rep, but more thorough and specific answers the 1st time round would save hassle

I bought one of these phones a few months ago for my mum and unlocked it very easily with a code from MSE. It has large buttons and large text so is great for people with poor vision.

Hi, I brought a couple of these a while back, they can be easily unlocked using a simple calculator, one can be downloaded from ]http//ww…lc/ you then enter the code generated for a nokia 6020b(rm-31), i don' know why but this works for the nokia 6070. If you haven't used a phone calculator before its very simple, enter your phones details and it will calculate a code for you, which you use to unlock it.

Okay heres the deal. This phone is basic entry phone which is what I need. The price is hardly warranting a sale, it sells like that in most places without the need of a fake sell. This nokia phone has recently been upgraded to the 6080 which has better features and can be found for 30 pounds here, it also looks much better - in my opinion of course; shop.carphonewarehouse.com/pay…ck/

The 6070 is preety rubbish in fact compared to the competition, lookey here:

shop.carphonewarehouse.com/pay…ck/

There are better options for that matter such as the k310i and the l6 but nonetheless buy the 6080 instead of this phone from the above link for the same price which I'm going to be doing right now.

Aren't you better off to buy it here from phones4u?]http//ww…626 it's £29.95, but you get £10 orange airtime, plus £10 cashback through quidco - just a thought, as i was going to purchase one from argos but decided to look round a bit first.

Perfect, just what I need for my Mum, her Nokia 3510i has pretty much given up now!

People dissin this phone should realise that it's entry level, for oldies, technophobes etc. Yes there are better phones out for similar money, but by getting this one saves me from having to spend 3 hours then many phone calls explaining how things are done different to her old Nokia.

The 6080 maybe a similar price, but you have to buy £10 of airtime with it, so makes it £45, and bear in mind if you upgrade your existing PAYG acocunt you dont get that £10...

@becci - Phones4u no longer doing £10 cashback via Quidco, they down to £5 now

Make that £40 not 45

]samy26 has me considering the Nokia 6080 now from CPW, free delivery (which argos does not offer) and £10 quidco (voda+virgin only, £5 on another network),
]meaning samy46 is right really, £5 more for newer phone and £10 credit on network of your choice or go with virgin or voda and get it for £30 with £10 credit after quidco..

And the network doesn't matter as you can dct unlock it if it is locked

Also its £25 + £10 credit here, £30 after £5 quidco.

]http//sh…ce/

Nokia 6070 and 6080 are identical except one thing, the 6080 has nicer TFT screen, 6070 has less bright clear/CSTN screen.

Soz to spam but:

]http//ww…215

Nokia 6070 on Orange, with £10 Orange credit and £10 quidco on anyphone Phones4u PAYG, free delivery = £30 for Nokia 6070 delivered with £10 credit.

Both the above making Argos look kinda poor really.

i know technically both the deals are better but the argos deal is a straight purchase of the phone without having to invest £10 in a network that you cant use in your area or may not want to use as its a lot of hassle texting some one from a new phone you will spend most of the credit explaining why you have a different number.

£30 no credit or £30 with £10 credit on another network with another number where you are under no obligation to use, the option with extra sim/number with £10 credit will always be superior, whether you use it or not and for long calls you can always withhold ur number on the new sim and just ise it occasionally.

Yeah no offence meant like i agree you will be getting more for your money but for me the ability to nip out and get it at the shop that day and just stick in my existing sim card was good enough

Indeed, for those who want it immediately and cannot wait, Argos wins, but most arn't in a rush really

i know it seems pretty sad but after not having a phone for a week you always feel something is missing when you go out  LOL far too dependant on technology

I feel spoilt, 2 contract phones, my dieing payg spare phone which i occasionally is dieing, a Nokia 6100 and I've put my money where my mouth is:

]http//sh…ce/

Ordered Nokia 6080 Clearance (ordered 2 clearance phones from CPW before and they looked and worked like brand new) so £29.95 after quidco with £10 credit on tmobile, which I should be able to give to one of my younger cousins in return for some slave labour at my house

PS: CPW seems to have delivery to branch option, any branch I wanted, I wonder if I had chosen that if it would of been delivered tomorrow bank holiday or even Tuesday to pick up, it's a nice option if you cannot stay in for delivery though, the reserve/pick up @ branch option in retail is growing which is great.
