Great deal from Virgin Mobile for light to moderate phone users wanting a good phone and decent talk time package they are offering 200 minutes and 500 texts a month and a choice of phone which amongst others includes the Nokia 6500, Sony Ericsson W910i, Samsung G600 and the LG KC550 on an 18 month contract.

I'm with Virgin Mobile and I find their customer services excellent. I'm on sim only and I get 200 mins and 500 texts a month for £15 so considering you get a decent phone thrown in for just another £3 a month seems a pretty good deal to me.

Website says it does video calling? Is that true?

Not a bad deal though

Hmm, not a very good deal though.
Nokia 6500 classic can be gotten on eBay for around £120 brand new and sim-free. On that basis, you're paying essentially £11.33 a month for the minutes+texts.

If I remember correct the sim-only deals from Virgin give you 300 mins 300 texts for £10 if you're a current customer. If you're not, apparently all you have to do is pick up a PAYG, give them a ring, and ask to be put on that plan (hotukdeals.com/ite…=23). Contract is on a rolling monthly basis, so can cancel anytime.

Based on that, I'm afraid I will have to vote this deal cold.

DONT get the w910i

i made that mistake - its *****

£2 more and you get a better phone and 1100 mix n match on three - a far better deal imo!

Not here to bash the OP's deal but I only recently found that DealExtreme sell OEM/look-a-like phones, a Nokia 6500 oem cost $104.50/approx £56.23, a Kaiser $189.00 /approx £101.72... Now I am unaware of the health risks of these phones with limited R&D..But it might be worth looking into. and DX are pretty reliable as sellers.
These phones combined with the Virgin 300+300 would be ideal dealextreme.com/det…789

They may look the same, but the software would of course not be the same, and possibly with limited functionality.
Having lived in China for some time, these "fakes" do work, sometimes very well, as most of the companies manufacturing these usually were outsourced subcontractors for the major mobile companies and thus they have the expertise to produce high end phones.
