The Nokia 6500 slide mobile phone shares its model number and its fondness for 3G technology with the Nokia 6500 classic - but please don't make the mistake of thinking they're the same phone underneath. This distinctive camera phone has quite a few surprises in store.

It starts on the outside with a scratch-resistant stainless steel case that contains a high-resolution colour display and a 3.2 megapixel camera. The camera uses Carl Zeiss optics for quality, it has auto-focus for sharpness and it includes a powerful double LED flash for indoor pictures.

A TV output on the Nokia 6500 slide lets you share your photos and video clips on a much larger screen... and can even be used with face-to-face video calling to create your own video conferences. The handset's 3G technology also helps speed up your internet browsing and your email, with a document viewer making it easy for you to look at attached files.

Along with all this there's a music player, an FM radio, an expandable memory, Bluetooth connectivity and Nokia's personal organiser software. Choose the Nokia 6500 slide and you're not just buying a fashion handset: you're choosing a sophisticated slide-open camera phone with looks and technology that should keep you happy for a long while.

Come on guys I know its a cold night but I have to buy one of these on Orange where can i get it cheaper ?

Don't get it.

Both 6500 varieties have firmware problems on Orange that cannot be resolved until Nokia release a new software. Practically unusable. Cold.

was selling for £59 on orange site 2 months back!!! bought 5/6!! and sold them for £ 85 each

Its only the orange branded/firmware ones that have issues, carphone use sim-free variants

So is this safe to buy then as a friend wants one to use on T-Mob. Or does it come with Orange Firmware and therefore the various bugs? Any other suggestions on where to get one for under £100?
