Thanks ducky

Was advertised in today's Metro newspaper in a BIG way. Was waiting for a Good mobile with loads of minutes & ordered one

I had a thread in the Misc forum somewhere for free sat nav software which will work on this phone, but I don't know what the software is like and you'd have to buy a special dongle for it too...

You won't have any problems with the cashback! I've had 2 contracts from Chatterbox before and had no problems......

these are great phones too, i loved my 6630!

This phone will run Route 66 and/or TomTom software. I got this phone over a year ago not knowing this fact - but it really was a pleasant surprise to find you can have TomTom on it. You do need the software and a bluetooth GPS - I recently bought a Holux 236 GPS from Ebay for about £45. Marvellous! In some ways more practical than the bigger all in one TomTom units as you really don't need to worry about it getting stolen as you normally have your phone with you - plus it is better for use on foot.

Can you please explain a bit more on the software Searcher2?

Is there any free version?

thanks

There is no free alternative version of TomTom that I know of. What do you want to know about the software? The official way to get the software is to buy a complete bundle including GPS and the software on memory card. I wouldn't condone other ways to get the software!

A good place to find out about your 6630 and what you can have on it is here

Also check out the 6680 forum if you are interested in TomTom

The first application I loaded onto my 6630 was an autolock function which locks the phone after xx seconds of non-use to stop it calling numbers when it is in my pocket. It doesn't come as a standard function on the phone.

Just been to Quidco, and chatterbox is (now) only a tenner

Thanks Searcher2

Ducky mentioned about a Free GPS Nav software for 6630. Hence my query ...

Well a year ago TomTom didn't really help themselves as you could only buy the complete package and not the software on its own... so people who already had a GPS were 'wasting' their money buying another one. At the time it was easy to obtain the software so this is probably where the 'free' came from. I am not sure if things have changed - it still looks like they make you buy the full package.

Still a good phone though... never had a problem with mine. Hope an offer like this is around when my 18 months run out. Would have this phone again but maybe go for the 6680.

Can't believe the Quidco cashback is now only £10. Chatterbox deals are some of the best on the net so I guess anything is a bonus and they are a reliable and reputable company.

Another good thing about Chatterbox is that if the original bill doesn't arrive for your cashback claim you can request a duplicate from the network and this will be accepted:

From the Chatterbox website -

2. Can I submit my bills online or send photocopied bills in order to claim my cash back?

As per our terms and conditions we cannot accept photocopies, faxes or online bills. If you do not receive your monthly bill please request a duplicate copy from your network provider.

Dodgy retailers will insist on the original only. In the past I have requested a duplicate bill from '3'. This was an exact duplicate of the online bill. The benefit of the online bill is it is an exact copy of your original bill.
