The 6 inch full-HD+ display with 18:9 ratio will quickly become your go-to screen. Machined from a solid block of 6000 series aluminium, Nokia 7 Plus is a phone that can take what life throws at it and look good while doing it. Subtle curves and a ceramic-feel coating bring the best of both worlds: a great grip and a clean look.

Nokia 7 plus packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 mobile platform and 4GB of RAM that provide all the power you need, and outstanding 2-day battery life keeps you going.

The 12MP and 13MP sensors with ZEISS optics and 2x optical zoom deliver vivid colours that bring your photos to life. On the front, the 16 MP ZEISS lens takes picture-perfect selfies, day or night.

Wherever you are and whatever the decibel level is, the three high-quality microphones capture every sonic nuance with OZO Nokia spatial audio.

Android One brings a streamlined, easy to use interface and a curated set of pre-installed apps, and free unlimited storage; as well as regular security updates and two years of OS upgrades.

Nokia 8 seems to have factory issues with screen even less than 6weeks into using it.

Cameras and battery are better on the Nokia 7 Plus. The Nokia 8 is better purely for performance though.

I faced the same dilemma: the 7 plus should have better battery life and receive updates for longer, but the 8 has better performance across many attributes. I went for the 8, but YMMV.
Quite a small screen on the 8 though for a large device. That’s main thing stopping me buying the 8 over the 7 plus which is only slightly bigger with a much bigger screen.
Anyone still have the Argos 10% off code from the price mismatch fiasco and not planning to use it?
How does this compare to phones such as the Moto G6 Plus or Nokia 6.1 (yes, both are a fair bit cheaper)

Putting aside phone specs, I previously have been a moto/lenovo phone user but have been phasing them out across the family in favour of nokias, for the simple reason that moto/lenovo are really poor for updates, both security and OS ones. Nokia/HMD are very prompt at issuing security and OS updates, and that will be even better with Android One. Just hope this continues now that they have a bit of device sprawl. I have my eye on a nokia 7 plus, but just waiting for a bit more of a drop before going for it.

I've had the 7 Plus for a few weeks and it's pretty good. It just doesn't feel as slick as my LG G6 I "upgraded" from.
Battery life is great - I use my phone quite a lot for browsing/emailing and music streaming (but not gaming or video watching, so not massive screen on time) and usually have 30% left at the end of the day.
The only real issue I have with it, is that it doesn't work properly with some WiFi networks. Certain secure pages (like login pages, and weirdly Twitter) don't work unless I switch WiFi off to use mobile data. Other phones and computers using same wifi network don't have this problem. (Note it only affects a few WiFi networks too, most work fine).
Bring really picky, the always on display on the 7 Plus is disappointing at night time. My LG G6 worked brilliantly as a gentle clock at night time. The 7 Plus seems to have to illuminate the whole screen (so the whole display is lit as a dull gray colour) and is disturbing in a dark room.

I bought a 6.1 for my mum and spent some time setting it up for her and testing it. I couldn't really tell any difference between it and the 7 Plus. Maybe I'd have noticed a performance difference over time, but I thought the 6.1 was a great phone.
Just to warn, while not everyone else is having problems, I've had problems with the bluetooth media streaming on both the Nokia 8 I sent back because of it and now the Nokia 7 Plus I just got as a replacement. There's quite a lot online about it on both Oreo 8 and 8.1, and none of the options I've tried so far fix it. Even safe mode doesn't help, so it's not a 3rd party app. I'm going to keep looking. Not sure if I can wait until P comes out to fix it, so not sure what I'm going to do...

Argh i lost my 10% code email, does anyone have a spare they can pm me?
Update: if anyone does have this problem, this is what worked for me when nothing else did:

Pair your speaker then go to bluetooth> More settings> on the relevant paired device, tap cogwheel, untick HD Audio: AAC. Bingo! What a relief....

The 7 plus felt bulky in the hand to me, like the note 8 does compared to s9. Wondering what this years flagship will bring in next couple of months but that'll be likely double the price or more.

The battery has a fair amount more screen to light though. 8 has more ram, twice the storage as well as the much improved performance. Optical zoom on the 7 plus is nice touch.
I bought the refurbished one. Totally impressed by the phone. The only thing that's missing is the Miracast that Google removed from the OS

Think Nokia 7 plus is android one with updates for 3 years guaranteed, dont believe nokia 8 is if you want safety with updates etc.
Brr.. it's gonna get freezing in here
I was interested in this phone till I saw that it does not have an FM radio. (Had been led to believe it would have by previews, etc)

Any of the new Nokia's have FM Radio AND Android One ?

(I am thinking the new Nokia 6, maybe ?)
This is a good price they must be running scared of the Mi A2...

Yeah I'm very impressed with my Mi A2 so far. Camera is exceptional - better than my Mi 6. Only downside is the battery life, but with a Quick Charge 3 compatible charger it's really quick to recharge.

But, I'm such a MIUI junkie I think I should have gone for the Mi 6X...

Oooh, well that would be tempting. If you like to store a lot of stuff, don't forget the Pixel doesn't have expandable storage. The Pixel has a more powerful SoC though if you need more than everyday umph.

I've tried one of the camera mods that gives the Pixel HDR+ camera tricks on other phones, but not working, will have do some more digging on that. Be nice to have the HDR+ mode when you need and the 2x zoom lens when that comes in handy (have to use the Nokia app for that of course)

How did you get your Mi A2 so quick? Is it the 32GB version?

I'm in the lucky position to work 'in the industry' so got it the day before it was announced. They gave me the 32gb version first but there was only 18 or so gb usable so I complained and got the 64gb version - would love the 6gb ram model but that's not available right now.

Overall though I'm massively impressed with the Mi A2 and am using it ahead of my Mi 6 as my daily driver...

Lucky chap! You much be one of only a few people with one in the UK.
I have the Mi A1, after being iPhone for 10 years.
Very happy Xiaomi are continuing to support android one.
It's my next phone definitely in the future, only query is 4GB or 6GB ram (I don't need the 128GB space).
Cheers

I've come from the 6gb ram Mi 6 and haven't noticed that the performance is any worse.

Good question! But afraid I'm more of a 'point and click and let the phone work it out' user...

How would I tell if it has api2?

This or Google pixel XL for same price from Argos?

The hardware on the pixel is a bit better however according to the manufactirers the Pixel will get updates for 3 months and security updates for 15 months whereas the N7P should get updates for 19 months and security updates for 31 months

Personally I don't want to use a phone that is not patched and up to date but that depends on your usage so I'd either pay more for a Pixel 2 or the upcoming 3 or go for something like the N7P which is quite good value.

Also Argos Ebay do keep listing the N7P refurbished at £213 , they don't have any at the moment but they've steadily released a few at that cost for the last two weeks so there may be more to come. The two I've bought have been immaculate (look brand new) but missing all accessories except for the usb lead.

Worthy upgrade from galaxy s7 edge?
I have this phone. It's great at a lot of things.
However...
The keyboard is laggy. I've installed Grammarly keyboard to speed things up!
The bokeh setting on the camera is poor and often misses the target.
The screen flickers when on its lowest brightness with night mode on. This is noticeable when in bed and it's very annoying.
Video content via social media is grainy and poor quality at times. I've seen others online have this issue.
Most annoying of all - Google Ads popping up at random times. I know this is a software issue - however I'm struggling to get rid of them and have yet to find a way to disable them.

It's a sleek phone. I went with the EE £22pcm for 4gb and unlimited texts and data. Free Google Home speaker etc in the end. Had it a while now.
This is my current phone - it's really good IMO

Battery life is aces. Get a Nilikin hard case and you're all set. I paid £255 through eglobal a few months ago but via Argos for not much more is a no brained
great, my samsung was just broken...
