Found this on ebay, I think it's good deal personally. I know you can get Chinese better spec phones but I prefer UK warranty.

Seller accepted £150 and has cyan and charcoal colours.

Seller also has the ice colour but this is at £179.99.

Seller has good feedback and UK based.

Nokia are selling this direct for £219.00 still with buds and kevlar case and extended warranty (I believe nokia standard warranty is 2 years?)

Specs - I believe android 10 updates are rolling out.

10 in charcoal available and more then 10 in cyan available, forgot to add that. And comes with case protector (I think that's more from Nokia from memory of other phones I've bought from Nokia).

Cheers

Seal doesn't need to be broken to check contents by seller; these must be open-box returns, or even used for some time. Dodgy seller, even UK-based (yes there are, some HK-based perform better). COLD, and I'm a Nokia lover. Sorry OP

No probs I appreciate your comment, I'll post back when received but I'm happy with the sellers 12k almost feedback and 99.9% feedback. PayPal covered so if not as described I'll pop it back to them jobs a goodun lol.
Cheers @lanky666 - good first post, heated! I picked up a 7.2 last week from the thread I posted here. Grade A from Argos, boxed with USB C cable and SIM tray tool but no charger. This price (if they continue to accept £150) looks great for also including the charger.

I received mine yesterday, it has updated to Android 10 with the April security update. For an Android One handset knowing you will have at least two major Android version upgrades and security updates for 3 years it's great. Nice stock experience. The hardware isn't going to set the world on fire, but still very decent and doesn't have any bloat to cope with

Thanks, for me it will do my xz1 is still on pie and I get the hammer and spanner icon when restarting. Read some people have usb sub port issues so I've ordered a magnetic charger to go with and will leave the end bit plugged in.

Argos refurbs are great had a few deals off here and been happy as well.
I hope they fixed the charging port on this model. Awful build quality on the Nokia 7 plus.

The overall build quality on the 7 Plus is excellent....but yes there was what seems to have been a very common problem with the charging port, I had mine fixed under warranty within a week. I believe that issue is long in the past now, 7.1 may have been the last to experience issues from memory.

I hope so to

As with all phones they have their glitches etc sometimes quick Google can fix sometimes it's a warranty job.

Only recently released I believe so here's hoping Nokia (HMD) learn from the past.

I don't know, back in the day everything was wrapped or sealed. My xz1 from Argos brand new wasn't. Not sure if the Nokia 7.2 comes sealed.

I will be checking to see if it has the film covering on the screen with advertising blurp as the item is sold as new condition from factory.

Can still turn it on with the film on the screen is my standpoint and I appreciate a reseller wants to ensure product works before selling on.

I'm slightly reassured by the fact the seller also sells" refurbished" phones and has labelled them accordingly. Time will no doubt tell but I'm an optimist lol.

Then if they do try to pass off and it's obvious can be returned, the CRA will apply as this is a business seller and additional PayPal protection.

I think worth a punt as still about £70 cheaper then new retail and clearly stated by seller opened unused.

I don't really want to have to return it that's why selected seller carefully and pulled the plug and purchased.

I am still waiting on this as only ordered today. The reviews I have seen of the camera state not to bad for my needs I would have a ready up on Google for your needs. It's not going to be flagship level but with the triple camera setup and zeiss it's going to OK for casual snappers I would have thought.

The Nokia 7.2 doesn't support wireless charging. I now you can buy add on kits from third parties but I'm just going to plug in myself or get an old fashioned dock/cradle.

Take a look at GSMArena for photo samples. Comparing here to the 7 Plus, but you can of course add your current phone or any other - gsmarena.com/pic…058

No wireless charging and no fast charging...it just about has the functionality to charge the battery with a cable plugged in Full spec. - gsmarena.com/nok…php

Fast charging not officially supported but some users state it works. It has the hardware, wonder if it is now able to fast charge with the updated android 10.

Will be checking the warranty status with Nokia online checker when I receive as that should confirm if handset is indeed new opened unused or not I believe.

Mine just appears to charge normally as expected, no indication of "charging rapidly" as I'd get on my 7 Plus etc. I have tested with the fast charger form the 7 Plus as well as 45w and 60w ones used for laptops. The Accubattery app (pretty handy) shows a max. of 2,000 mA as the current charge.

I checked the IMEI on their warranty site (here) - it only states "The warranty on your Nokia device is valid. You can find the exact dates of your warranty from your proof of purchase." so don't think this will help unfortunately. I believe they are offering some extra time on warranties due to Covid.

I think some certain fast chargers work. Have seen anker seem to work think I may have one lying about to test. Some other forum posted it displays charging rapidly which I assume means fast charging. To be honest I charge mine overnight so not an issue.

Yeah warranty checker may not give date and yes covid is playing havoc with some normal dates (mot for example mine got extended by 6 month in April) may have to see if some way to check android itself to see some sort of initialisation date maybe sure their is some way will have a read up.

Do you think total call time in service menu would be reliable?
lanky66606/05/2020 16:05

Do you think total call time in service menu would be reliable?

That would be reset when factory resetting the device. I don't think there's a code or menu that's accessible and the IMEI as far as I know only reveals the country of manufacture which will be China.

When you get yours and it starts to update, check what month the security patch is for, that will give some idea of when it was last used I guess. Related - you won't be fully up-to-date until you receive the Anroid 10 plus April 2020 security patch update. I'd recommend not adding your Google account until you've got to this level, THEN factory reset again (it will stay at 10 and the April patch) and then setup, especially if you are restoring from a backup taken from a phone already on Android 10.

I have a Nokia 6.2 (very similar, slightly slower CPU are lower quality cameras). Haven't tested with Ampere but it appears to charge v quickly with 18W Ravpower charger.

I was wondering if it was a mis price as I think the green is more sort after colour.

I got dispatch notification today they use parcelforce express 24.

Did some digging on company and been trading for a while and directors have their personal addresses on companies house.

I'm actually excited to receive this lol.

A new phone in lockdown is not a bad thing and it is a nice bit of tech for the money.

Things I'm liking compared to my 7 Plus so far:

* Notification light within the power button. Haven't had a notification light on a phone for a while....do I need one?
* Ambient screen
* Wi-Fi calling with Three (most networks support this)
* Weight - although similar to the 7 Plus the way it's distrubuted must be different as it feels lighter to hold.
* Cameras - definite improvement and night mode looks decent. Having a centred sefie camera is way better for video calls too than the offset one the 7 Plus has. EDIT - the wide angle lens is a nice upgrade too!
* EDIT - FM radio!

Things I'm not overly impressed with:

* Build quality is nice but not quite that same level premium feel.
* Finger print reader - definitely more prone to a misread and a little slower which is a shame.
* You're forced to move to either full gesture control or 2 button navigation. In Android 10 on the 7 Plus you could still go back to the three button way. This has forced me over, it's not so bad. It's possible I believe if you want to put a different launcher on, but that defeats some of the advantages of stock Android for me.

Impartial on the charging and battery life so far, time will tell. Dedicated Assistant button too? Hmmm.

Will keep my eye out for the above.

Battery is my main concern just 3500mah but my xz1 only has 2700mah.

Really looking forward to the camera as only ever had single lens phones before.

I had a Nokia lumia 8 series Windows phone and that was one of the best I had worked flawlessly. I for one actually liked Windows phone os.

Maybe a misunderstanding - the week was the duration of the turn around from me sending it off for repair to receiving it back. I was 16 months into ownership. It's HMD Global really, but yeah can't beat the old school indestructable 90s mobiles....but then they didn't have glass screens

Kind of related, but if anyone has an 1hr spare in lockdown the 'Rise and Fall of Nokia' BBC documentary is really interesting, how they fell from being the global leader in mobile phones - youtube.com/wat…OEQ

Love the description - "unwanted gift".......and there are 4 of them! Wish I had friends/family buying me that many phones as gifts!

To be fair, it is harder to be a seller and gets things dispatched right now, but certainly not impossible and of course lots going on for people. Are they just not responding to messages at all?

Ah sorry I thought you had verified the tracking via courier site not just the ebay site.

£210, almost nokia website price.

I never buy from ebay "companies" that don't have thousands of feedback.

The phone from the seller we have both ordered from is showing as collected on parcelforce so fingers crossed this time and sure you'll get money back via PayPal and grabbed this cheaper.
