Nokia 8 £340 +£15 1 month contract -£50 quidco = £305 Carphone Warehouse

Quidco do £50 cashback on all contracts from Carphone Warehouse including 1 month contracts

If you sort Nokia 8 deals by lowest total cost there are a few for £340 upfront and £15 a month which you can cancel after the 1st month. Total outlay £355 which even without the cashback is better than current deals even without Quidco.

Hot but as per quidco rules, you must advertise price excluding quidco (as cashback isn't guaranteed through quidco). Well worth it!

Price is £355, Quidco NOT guaranteed!

Quidco says for SIM only contracts minimum 3 months; this might be a case here as well (not stated in T&Cs though).

Are phones locked and can they unlock for free?

CPW phones are normally unlocked.

Wow that didn't take long coming in price last month was 499

Quidco terms say only for transactions completed online, but don't exclude local collection... Anyone know if it counts if you buy online but collect from local shop?

If you have to cancel after one month I presume you have to give notice so in total you are paying for two months?
That adds £15 to the price then.

No, it specifically says on the site "Minimum total cost £354.99", so you can cancel straight away and only pay 1 month.

I've looked through all the Quidco terms I could find and I can't find any reference to a minimum number of months, can you link to it please?

You're right. Nothing there currently to suggest this. I've modified my post to save unnecessary confusion.

Even without the cashback this is the cheapest deal available for the handset but hopefully it'll pay out.

Confirmed with CPW rep on webchat that the phone would be unlocked to any network, so think I'm going to pull the trigger on this now.

Can you cancel the SIM contract online or do you need to call them up?

Sorry to spam the thread, but in case anyone's interested, I've just spoken to CPW again via web chat and they say you don't even need to cancel the SIM - You would just stop using it and it doesn't recur.

"You just stop stop using the Sim card, the 1 month plan is not continuous, so thee wont be any extra charges after 30 days, if you are looking to still use the Sim card, you just call the network provider to top you up."

I'm using an S8 right now that I'm not that fond of. Is the nokia 8 any good??

It depends why you are not fond of the s8. I went for the nokia because I like a bezel, headphone socket and front mounted fingerprint sensor along with excellent screen above average camera, top of the line processor and great updates (Oreo - Android version 8 came out for this yesterday) and security patches.

I don't like it coz the battery life is terrible, I can barely get through half a day with medium use. Touchwiz also grinds my gears!!

Well reviews say almost 2 days medium use out of the Nokia and the OS is basically stock. Also this will get Treble.

Strange, I checked stock level at my locals, they do have stock.
But if I attempt to place an order, it only allows me to order to deliver to local store, instead of immediate pickup.

topcashback is also available if one prefers it.

I'm on the fence about this vs the s8 deal already posted.

I'm coming from a 4 year old Note 3 so basially anything will feel like a huge upgrade, and I'd already placed an order for the S8, but the Bixby button, fingerprint scannerposition, and fragility of the S8 is making me reconsider.

Nice that Nokia is sticking to their promise with software updates. Shouldn't be long till users will see the Android Oreo update for the Nokia 8, with the 5 & 3 to follow soon twitter.com/sar…929

Samsung S7 for £280 or Nokia 8 for £305? Help please!

Go for Nokia 8, better spec and fast system updates. Nokia has already started roling out Android 8 to Nokia 8 devices

This or the honor 9? I ordered the latter yesterday and not sure if this is much better (other than android roll outs being quicker).

Anyone used both?

Mine's getting delivered tomorrow and £50 Quidco (+£5) has tracked.

Bargain.

I ordered mine at 17:43, but I didn't receive any email about dispatch

Not happy

I believe credit search will be involved, as this will be setting up a new credit agreement.

My personal preference is the S7 edge...

Nokia 8 is the new Nexus

Nokia 8 is the new Nexus

bear in mind that the bootloader is not yet unlockable, so no custom kernel, rom, or recovery. and I think no root yet.

having said that, I stop rooting my phone since Nexus 5X, so Nokia 8 might just be the right phone.

Ordered this at 9am, Quidco has tracked but no confirmation email, anyone else had this or is it just my fat thumbs entering the wrong email?

Order yesterday and the phone is being delivered today, I will report back on what I think. Nexus 5X owner here.

I bought it through TopCashback, but it didn't track

RE. this question and also versus the Honor 9 that someone else asked about - depends what is important to you. Huawei/Honor aren't highly regarded for longer term support for updates, so Nokia's promises on this look to be in their favour in that area. Camera wise the Nokia hasn't gotten much love while the other two have got at least some love in some quarters. Personally I'd probably go for this, although the Honor 9 is certainly the cheapest of the three.

for those that have purchased this can you recommend a case & tempered glass screen protector?
thanks!

I haven't had a case on my phone since my HTC Desire years and years ago. But this Nokia 8 might be the phone to change all that because it's like a frickin' bar of soap!

i hate using a case bc i feel it hides the aesthtics of the phone & personally that's a contributing factor as to why i chose a device... but after getting my op3 & dropping in the first 3 days i've realised it's a must. Luckily the op3 only got a tiny chip in the corner but it could have been a smashed screen or camera i still remember my heart plummeting (as my phone plummeted to the floor!)

The p10 lite can be bought for less than half the price of this, I'm debating whether this is really worth the extra?
