Been following this as has been at £399.99 with CPW. Comes in more colours at John Lewis and with 2yr guarantee. Also if it does drop in price with Black Friday more likely to get price promise etc if drops at other retail stores.

Not if you've already got a SIM only contract

Also not sure how OP thinks 2 colours at JL is more than the 4 that CPW are offering but oooh kay.

How would the black Friday guarantee work?

Don't feed the troll.

Very nice price with the 2 year warranty. Really does sound like an epic phone. I would be tempted but still love my HTC 10.

Excellent phone and super spec with near stock Android. I would say AWESOME

Such a shame the camera on this is sub par versus basically every other high end Nokia from the last 5 years!

If the camera were broadly equivalent to an S7/S8 I'd have got one, the rest of the device is perfect.

Same position, I almost clicked Buy Now on Amazon UK a few days ago - but decided last minute that its not quite the a big enough upgrade from my HTC 10....Came very close mind!

Well black Friday would fall within 28 days so as long as the price match was done during this period if found lower they would honour the difference hopefully.

Ha, exactly. At that point now where a shiny new phone would be lovely as our phone is 18 months old, but it's still a very capable phone. No reason why we can't get another 6 months out of them. The only thing I am really struggling with is the battery life. Had my phone for 10 months and I am lucky to get over 2.5 hours of screen on time now

They are going down in price already. Wait January and they will be giving them for free

If someone pulled out a fix for the middling camera quality I'd snap one of these up (probably on a cheap contract mind you...)

Trouble is that as soon as a fix is found, the price will jump up...

The camera is good - not sure what people are moaning about

Good is relative to what you're used to. It's average at best in my book, poor HDR implementation, focus hunting, poor low light, blown out skies and bad CA at the edges of the image.

It's nowhere close to the iPhone/S8/Pixel 2 quality, cheaper I know but I wish they'd fix it.

It's not in comparison to the competition though. It's not even great at this price, however the rest of the phone is. This is still a deal. Would prefer Xiaomi Mi 6 though.

I have got the nokia 6 and the camera is good nothing amazing. I still carry my Microsoft Lumia 950XL around just for using as a camera.

Got one yesterday - no problems with skies...

Is that on an HTC 10?

Mine too is struggling with battery life recently.

Major lens distortion unless that wall really did lean out at the top. Looks like classic barrel distortion

Yeah dude HTC 10. Battery was great for the first 6 months but then became really poor. HTC said I can send off for repair and they will most likely replace the battery, but I don't really wanna be without my phone for best part of 2 weeks!

don't nokia phones come with 2 years already?

The 'fix' is to sideload the Pixel camera APK. Seems to produce excellent quality images.

The monochrome camera is the best option if using the stock camera.

How's everyone else getting on with their Nokia 8s, and has anyone else had any issues?

My phone (blue version) has been fine for the past month or so but has developed a screen fault (half the screen just freezes or pixelates). I bought it from the AffordableMobiles deal posted here and they have been useless ("all we can do is send it back to Nokia for repair, since it's more than 30 days old") and I'm not really sure about Nokia - they've asked me to send it away (prepaid to Hungary(!)) but when I asked how long it would take, all I've had is "Unfortunately we don't possess this information at the moment", whatever the heck that means.

I'll probably go along with it and see where it leaves me, but it's really poor customer service on both counts.

Has anyone else encountered any issues, and/or dealt with Nokia customer service?

for those that have purchased this can you recommend a case & tempered glass screen protector?
thanks!

anyone know how to make the battery percentage visible in the notification bar? only method i can find is to enable "system UI tuner" but not sure if that has any negative impact on the phone....

also where can i get pixel/google camera apk?

For anyone interested in how this was resolved - after a mixup with DHL (the phone sat in one of their centres for a week, all the while they weren't sure where it was, and I was calling them at least daily), the phone was in transit for less than 24 hours before being delivered to the repair centre in Budapest. It arrived Friday and was back to me the following Thursday (and I think it would have been a day sooner but for the fact I amended the delivery address with DHL). It's had a new screen which has completely resolved the issues I was having. So but for DHL's incompetence, it was would have been a week from start to finish.

Communications with HMD ('Nokia') were slightly painful - at one point, they were insisting that they had received the phone on the day before I even posted it, and I never felt like I was talking (webchat) with anyone who actually seemed all that helpful - but the outcome was great.

TL/DR: despite lacking the polish you might get (or expect to get) from a premium brand, the service process worked pretty well.
