£499.99 not long ago.

£399.99 everywhere else right now (bar dodgy non-UK sites) so saving £50 in Carphone Warehouse with free next day delivery.

Spent some time looking to replace my knackered Note 4 and was gasping at the £700-1000 price range of the "top" smartphones out now.

Its half the price of other flagship phones, with the same top range processor and screen and more or less similar features - all from a solid brand.

Just ordered the glossy blue but all colours are in stock online and in store. Some highlights:

  • Snapdragon 835
  • 5.3-inch Quad HD display
  • Expandable memory
  • Dual 13MP cameras front and back
  • Available in matte blue, glossy blue, copper and silver steel
  • Stock Android - no bloatware
  • A headphone jack (!)

Could you not bolt on a one month sim and cancel the sim straight away under 14 days to get this even cheaper at £309.99 and even £50 less than that through tcb?
Why wont this brand just die!?!

Love my nokia 8 and gonna repost my sample pictures. This is probably the worst photo I have taken with this phone but it is still perfectly usable cause I'm not a professional photographer

Here are some much better pictures taken with the camera

Not to detract from this post but I thought the going rate for this phone was 330 or so last year? Time machines notwithstanding, it's a bit disappointing that the deal price has risen so much now.

Because every android phone they have released since being licenced to HMD so far has been excellent?

Security and OS updates faster than anyone bar Google, and the occasional update even before Google, no bloat, outstanding battery life.. at nearly half the cost of the bloated slow out of date Samsung flagship, I'm not sure why anyone would look elsewhere.

I think those were usually used, rather than new, mine was 320 used (like new) in December, at this price for new is a bargain, but of course it's because they just announced the Sirocco version of the 8, which carphone will be sticking I assume and clearancing this one.

Hopefully the Sirocco improves the camera.. it's Ok, but could be better. It's also occasionally very, very slow to focus and shoot after hitting the button which is beginning to get mildly annoying..

thx
Gonna probably wait until the Nokia 7 Plus appears and then compare. It would be good if Nokia have sorted out the camera quality and speed issues. Good price though.
Good phone, bought one a few weeks ago, the screen is excellent and phone is very quick indeed. Battery life is good and charging is nice and quick. The camera isn't fantastic, but it's very rare I take pictures of anything so not really an issue for me, it's good enough for me. Very quick getting updates, which I'm pleased about. Fingerprint sensor works well. Definitely needs a case as otherwise it's a slippery thing!

I had a think and I was confusing it with the 22pm three contract deal which came to around 330 give or take. Amazon were selling simfree for 50 quid more or so, which is in line with what camel says.

Love the phone, but 350 still feels like a premium price (but that's probably me being spoilt/fussy). Heat for the price in the current market though.
Great price. Nokia shop are doing the 8 with a VR bundle for £399 at the moment
Topcashback are doing £10 cashback on SIM free phones from CPW at the moment if that helps anyone.

I think I will wait and see the reviews of it first. The Pixel2 may also have come down in price but then giving me even more options. Sirocco also is an option, but I do not like the screen shape from what I have seen.
Jl do price match for "steel" one
Mine's arriving today took the plunge, been well happy with my nokia 6 and this is an awesome upgrade for it, wife is happy too she gets my 6 instead of her 5
