Godd phone at a good price.

Godd owns a Nokia. Never would have guessed.

Initially thought it was a mis-price, given that it was only released 2 days ago with an RRP of £579, and the 64Gb Glossy Blue is listed at £499.99, but apparently not, they've just shipped mine.

Does this mean the copper is coming soon too? I went for Matt blue last month and am very happy with it

Copper is available in 64Gb only, for £399.99

£439.99 is a bargain for a phone like this. I bought s8 plus as well at the same time. ZTE axon 7 back in December and HTC one Max 32gb in gold 3 months ago. I am still liking Nokia 8 more .. typing from it xD

For I knew I could get this one for 439.99 I would have not got my Nokia 8 matte blue from eBay under warranty for just under 345

If I knew that the free watch wasn't for me and that I'd save £100 so soon, I would have waited a couple of months for the copper or shiny blue 🙄

how does this compare against one plus 5 (or the touted oneplus 5T to be released soon) as they are both at the same price for 64GB i guess

that's still couple of months ago compared to couple days back though. I am sure you did sell the watch.

more or less the same, it's either nokia 8 latest release version or a wait for 5t. that's the choices.

The 5T looks like it's got a bigger screen (6") with less pixels. And no 3.5mm jack.

I prefer how the Nokia 8 has stuck with a generic layout of back, home, menu buttons at the bottom of the screen. I'm not swept away by the new fascination of having edge-to-edge screen.

I'm sure the One Plus said a few weeks ago the 5T WILL have the 3.5mm jack. The FP scanner will also be better on the OP5T.

Your crystal ball is impressive

Wasn't sure about the 3.5mm. I've read reports of both, yes and no, the 5T will and won't have it!

What I saw in my crystal ball also had images of the end of the 5T with the 3.5mm jack.

Considering the FP scanner on the 3 is one of the best you can buy, it's highly likely the 5T will be even better. Some reviews of the Nokia 8 say the FP scanner isn't big enough and therefore gives bad reads.

Trading in the watch today. It's nice, but I already have a smart watch and a nice analogue dress watch. This sat awkwardly in the middle

Received mine earlier; nowt wrong with the fingerprint reader, it hasn't failed once.

Phone is quick, light, thin, and works a treat.

Only complaint is that the bundled earphones are pretty poor. I'll be using wireless buds but it's a shame the ones provided have such poor sound quality. They're loud and bassy, but awful.

It is dual SIM.

The second slot is either nano SIM or microSD.

Are you sure, are there 2 imei on the box? I thought second sim slot was disabled for the UK market?

Oh, I don't know then. The little instruction leaflet said it could use two SIMs, but I just checked the box and there's one IMEI

Yeah it's really annoying that. I'm guessing as only one IMEI then only single SIM as each SIM slot needs it own IMEI I think. It's often the case that they disable the second sim for UK markets no idea why. Not a deal breaker for me though

Thanks folks; that will be the single-SIM version then. Which pretty much *is* a deal-breaker for me, unfortunately.

Great deal though!

If you want a dual SIM phone In UK then best bets are probably honor or oneplus. Xiaomi are but you'll need to import

Great price, but i'm holding out for Oneplus 5T and seeing what that has to offer and hoping that black Friday will bring out all the bargains

Indeedy, I'm currently using a Huawei P10 Plus (dual sim) as my daily driver, and recently won a few prizes in a smartphone photo competition using my Honor 9; Huawei & Honor gear is fantastic value for money, and for the most part really well put together.

I still have a soft spot for Nokia/MS/"HMD-Nokia" gear having previously been a brand ambassador (from the N8 days through the WP/WM years up to and including the spectacularly awful MS 950xl), and was looking at picking up one of these until the Huawei Mate 10 Pro goes into full launch mode - dual-SIM would have been ideal as I don't want to carry round more than a couple of handsets at a time. Either way, it'll be all-change in a couple of months time!

Just ordered one for tomorrow. This deal is hotter that the Nokia 8 at £399. Two years from now you'll be glad you spent the extra £50 for 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage!

How's everyone else getting on with their Nokia 8s, and has anyone else had any issues?

My phone (blue version) has been fine for the past month or so but has developed a screen fault (half the screen just freezes or pixelates). I bought it from the AffordableMobiles deal posted here and they have been useless ("all we can do is send it back to Nokia for repair, since it's more than 30 days old") and I'm not really sure about Nokia - they've asked me to send it away (prepaid to Hungary(!)) but when I asked how long it would take, all I've had is "Unfortunately we don't possess this information at the moment", whatever the heck that means.

I'll probably go along with it and see where it leaves me, but it's really poor customer service on both counts.

Has anyone else encountered any issues, and/or dealt with Nokia customer service?

Only had my Glossy Blue for a week but it's been perfectly fine.

Fine for me so far, (3 days). My greatest fear was the camera (focus, sensitivity) but that seems great too.
For people who are interested about dual SIM: although the original instructions show how to insert a SIM or SdCard in slot 2, the tray shape is tweaked such as you can only insert an SdCard.

has anyone got the cashback for this confirmed yet?

just wondering as on top cashback it says x amount cashback for sim free phones but then if you scroll further down, under "what will stop me getting cashback?" it says:

"Please note, cashback will not be paid out on a handset purchase. Only new contracts and upgrades"

... slightly confused?

This is a brilliant deal. When I discovered it, I bought it. I had been eyeing the copper coloured version but there isn't a 128gb version in copper. More than happy with the glossy blue version though. It's more subtle that it sounds.

I used quidco, it tracked straight away.

It's also very difficult to get a decent photo of this phone it doesn't look massively glossy or shiny, until you try to take a photo of it apparently, then it turns into a mirror.
