This or the oneplus 5T???

I've had a similar dilemma for months, waited patiently for Nokia 6 to release only to be disappointed by the reviews. Was leaning toward a G5S Plus, but now tempted by this or the OnePlus. I keep waiting for cheaper deals, but have ended up looking at more expensive phones.

No brainer at this price. Hot

This looks a pretty decent phone, but a bit dated in terms of features and looks. And seeing as you can get an S7 Edge for less than this at the moment, it's not something I would put my money into

Great value for sim only.
S7 edge seems a better bet if you want a top class camera. I'd also go for Samsung for support and service.
Personally I quite like my Nokia 8 after a couple of days of use. Would have gone for Sammy if that was available at the same contract price.

Currently just shy of £18p/m on Three with 4Gb data and unlimited calls and minutes (18.88 plus 30 cashback via QC or TCB).

BLACK FRIDAY, BLACK FRIDAY BLACK FRIDAY.

Has anyone got sick of people saying they're holding out for Black Friday?

This phone won't be much cheaper, if at all. Black Friday is nothing special - generally just a load of tat that isn't selling. If you follow this site you'd think they start knocking out S8s for £200.

In my experience the deals leading up to Black Friday on high value items are pretty much on par with actual Black Friday deals. I can't remember the last earth-shattering Black Friday smartphone deal. If anyone can chip in with one I'd be intrigued. Was the Samsung S7 half price last Black Friday? Or was the iPhone 7 £300 off?

Apologies if my memories of Black Friday being a disappointment for the last two years are false ones.

Why would it make any difference? The release of the Nokia 8 didn't change the price of the 6 and 5 as far as I recall. Also isn't this already a good price for what you get? I can't see this dropping to £300 as retailers would just end up with loads of returns and people buying them again.

Nokia 9 will be their new flagship supposedly. We will see what happens. Meant 350 ish mark. On a side note over on the Nokia forums, reports of nfc issues with the Nokia 8, due to position of nfc chip and the steel cover.

Just remember that this only came out in August. The Nokia 9 isn't a replacement; it's a different category of device. They've staggered all their range this year.

For that reason I don't think the 9 will have any bearing on the 8.

The NFC is a bit awkward on the Nokia 8 in terms of its range - eg it's not as good at picking up the terminal as the G6. The range varies by manufacturer - for example my P2 could practically scan an NFC terminal from the other side of the room!

I've ordered this now but chosen delivery for next Sunday, so if a better deal crops up on Black Friday, I'll have time to cancel this one.

Picked up a Nokia 8 yesterday based on this review

Not disappointed. I've moved from a Nexus 6 which, on reflection, was just a tad too big and I think £399 is about the right price for this. I'm too used to stock android to consider LG, Samsung, Huawei et al, and can't justify £900 for a Pixel 2 so I'm kind of limited in choice.

I went for the matt blue version as the 'silver' had a bit of a pinkiness/champagne look about it when viewed in the shop.

What the review above didn't mention, and that I was totally unprepared for, is that it's like holding a bar of soap with this phone. This DEFINITELY needs a case.

Also when trying to restore my account during initial setup it just hung the phone, so not off to a great start. Had to reboot and skip restore to progress the setup. However the phone is super responsive compared to the Nexus 6 and I've had no problems since then.

I ordered through the good contract offer that's going on at MPD. Looking forward to receiving it as I currently own the S5, which is starting to lag and play up.

I picked up a ‘used good’ one for £343 last week and it was completely like new - all sealed accessories. I just rang to ask about the warehouse discount and whether I could get a belated discount and they knocked 25% off!

A brand new condition, fully warrantied N8 for £257 is suddenly starting to look like a real bargain.

There’s another ‘used good’ in the Warehouse but I guess it’s pot luck what the condition is. On the plus side, the item is already classified as used so technically you can return it for a full refund as late as the end of January.

Where is the 25% warehouse discount?

Where is the 25% warehouse discount?

There isn't one. Amazon Warehouse items are 20% off from Midnight.

I rang today as I bought a Nokia from the Warehouse last week. I mentioned the midnight 20% off deal that starts later and said there was another 'used good' one in the Warehouse, and would I have to return this one and buy that again to get the discount? She went off and said as a goodwill gesture she would refund the 20% plus an extra 5% (which I didn't ask for) to save me posting the existing one back.

The best selling point of Nokia Android phones is that they receive monthly Android security updates as soon as Google publish them. I have a Nokia 8 and it has all of the updates up to and including the 1st of October 2017 security update. I would be more confident doing online banking on a Nokia phone than I would on a Huawei phone. Huawei phones only very rarely receive security updates.

I've got a question for people who have this phone. Are you guys having issues with the NFC on this model?

Anyone using an alternative case to the official one?

Decided to go for this after deliberating on the G6 and P10. Found the stock OS, best in class CPU and 64gb storage swung it for me. Camera may not be quite G6 level but still meant to be decent enough.

Massive price change since posted - £379.99 NOW!

for those that have purchased this can you recommend a case & tempered glass screen protector?
thanks!

anyone know how to make the battery percentage visible in the notification bar? only method i can find is to enable "system UI tuner" but not sure if that has any negative impact on the phone....

also where can i get pixel/google camera apk?
