Nice to see them getting rid of the notch. No wait they've just made it appear like it doesn't have one

Yeah confused me when I grabbed the picture - took me ages to spot the clock and battery bar at the top
Is this waterproof ? I can't find it in the specs ?

Not sure, can't see any IP ratings either, so I assume not - probably just 'splash' like most
Just get the 7 plus.
Yeah, weird naming procedure, maybe they were trying to dupe Nokia 8 lovers in to thinking this was the successor to drum up sales.

No matter, same price at clove, though 100% I'd rather buy from JL

Yes, they need to sort their naming convention out - very confusing for those late to the party.

Called 'X' models in other locations too ?

Still, good phone I think? Will be great when it is £250

Haha yuup
Don't understand how this (with Snapdragon 710 CPU) is better or more expensive than normal Nokia 8 with Snapdragon 835 CPU.

I guess it's not all about the SoC. But the Nokia 8 is an old model now so highly discounted (or was)

Even the screen resolution is lower.

Yes, the 8 tag is confusing, but this is not technically an 8 upgrade, this is a new 7(plus?)

Nokia 8 (6Gb/128Gb) is still one of the best phones I've owned (and currently still do own) - and it was pre-"notch", so it just looks and acts like a normal phone
Calling this 8.1 is daft.

Yup, they need to sort it out - confusing if you think you are getting a 'new' 8 and why would you think otherwise?

You have to do a bit of digging to find it is an evolution of the 7 plus
I had a nokia 8. Was great value for money, but I couldn't get used to the terrible screen calibration that was way too cold/blue. Had to sell it.
Heat given for the question mark
