    Thanks OP
Well ditching Orange after 6 years. £120.00 for old handset from Cash for Phones, new shiny Nokia 820, and sim from Giff Gaff for £10.00 a month giving 500 mins, unlimited texts texts and 1gb data. Quidco cash back, Tesco Clubcard points and Amex cashback,
and saving around £20.00 a month on my old orange contract. Happy Days

About 40% of the 820s have had to be replaced as the users dropped them from a mediocre height and completely shattered the screen.Nice enough phones though tbh, screen is good. £180 is a bit of a bargain, we were paying £380 each through our vendor!

it sounds like it should have been the mediocre and clearly clumsy 40% of employees that should be getting replaced.......

I had an 820 and got rid of it a few weeks ago. It's a lovely phone but it just didn't feel right in the hand to me. First world problem I know but I found it unpleasant and uncomfortable to hold as if the balance was all wrong.
It wasn't a device you found yourself picking up and fiddling with if you know what I mean.
I now have the 620 which I find a more pleasant experience to use even though it is noticebly inferior technically (820 screen is super bright and colourful).
I would suggest playing with one before you buy if at all possible but if it feels good to you then go for it as it's a good phone.

Good deal. Or if you don't mind one used, under 120 pounds on smartfonestore.

Heat added Op. A decent phone I've owned, good features and easy to use.

Benefit over this than the HTC 8x is LTE (4G support)

Overall pretty good. My question is - has anybody bought a sd card 64gb which works without crashing as I've read this is a major problem at the moment.

ive got a 32gb class 10 in mine.works fine ,dont think it can handle a 64 gb 1as it geared for up to 32gb

ive dropped my 820 several times and not so much as a chip but it does have a case ,i even dropped it in the sink full off water lol but the tight fitting case saved it from getting water inside thank f.the 820 is a great phone with good spec, how good do u need ?,there is always a trade off.the 920-928 is a better phone but twice the price and thebattery aint removable, and to big in my opinion, where else are you gona buy a 4g phone with good spec at £179 ?????.

Can you put a MicroSD card into this? and more importantly, can you move the apps to the SD card to save on memory.
Also is it worth the difference in price over the Huawei W1 that was £69.99 and if so why. I dont play many games on my phones, ut use a few other apps.

Apps can't be stored elsewhere other than phone memory. Having said that, apps on Windows Phone 8 tend to be pretty slim. Everything else, such as maps, music, video, photos can be put on your SD card.

928 is American only, I assume you mean the 925. You're not gonna get them at this price. Not that you'd suffer much, the CPU and RAM is the same.

8GB is bad for internal storage and WVGA is pretty poor.

Otherwise its decent, but the internal storage really hinders it.

Excellent phone, better screen than the 920 (OLED vs standard TFT). The only drawback is that it's quite heavy compared to other phones, and the back cover is a real pain to remove (to change SIM card for instance, or just get another colour).

Having owned one of these and more recently an HTC8X, I would have the 8X over this every time. Thinner, lighter, most of the important Nokia exclusive apps now available on the HTC as well etc. etc.

Sent mine for repair/replacement 3 days ago.
Dust started getting under the screen after a couple of months, starting with the front facing camera, then the screen itself.
Ended up (after 9 months) being so bad that the front camera was useless, the screen had very noticeable dust intrusion and worst of all, the dust blocked the proximity sensor making it very difficult to end calls.
Not giving it a second chance, even if they replace it.

I now have a HTC One, maybe I'll look at Windows phone again when my contract is due for renewal.

The problem is that giffgaff run on O2, who are utterly terrible for anyone who lives outside of a metropolis! With a smartphone I want decent network speeds whilst out and about. Won't ever go back to giffgaff unless O2 seriously invest in infrastructure (which I highly doubt they will).

Anyway back to the deal, heat added. Although I would expect the price to drop further in the coming weeks, even more so when the next iPhone is announced. If you can wait until then, deals will be plentiful on sim free devices.

Not being cheeky or anything but why should the release of the new iPhone mean lower price on this ?

Its only the black at a few places thats this low. People won't switch from iPhone 5S or whatever its called to a Nokia 820, they might switch to the 1020, same as the Galaxy S4, don't expect that to rop on price until new Galaxy comes out.

Myself I would say if you want a Nokia this is the one on price, but the HTC 8X is better unless you must have LTE.

Oh and those saying other glass is better than gorilla this is not that either just standard scratch resistant.

Samsung ativ s cost only £200 at amazon too and both htc 8x and samsung are better than nokia. Of all 6 wp that I owned, only nokia phones switch itself on and off
