Probably get voter cold ,but working it out .....
Contract =£300 for 24 months
Phone (in a recent deal got very hot ) is worth let's say £160
That means it figures out only £140 for contract ,or £5.80 a month
Seems like a decent deal for this contract as its usually around 7-8 pounds for this much data /mins/texts so ......,.....

Forgot to add that you also get club card points that may be useful for trading on their x2/x3 programming

I understand that this isn't a lot of data and not for everyone ,but for me , nearly everywhere I go (I live central Bristol) has WiFi so I don't really need much data and I don't watch many videos online (on my phone anyway)

Same as this one. I think it's a good deal, but people may vote it cold because it's got cheaper since.

Dry didn't search but great deal and I guess it can't hurt to remind people given the recent deals for this phone

Good deal. I would switch for Tesco if they had cheaper international rates. I.e. Lithuania on giffgaff is only 3ppm to mobiles and 2ppm to landline, meanwhile Tesco charges 25ppm for both. Otherwise would be perfect for me as I do ok with 7.5 goodiebag and 250mb alowance.

£15 offers 750 mins and 1 GB data.

Its a great phone and price but 500mb is a tiny amount for a smart phone. I guess Tesco don't support 4G which is a shame as the phone does. I get through anywhere between 1-3Gb of data a month but I do have 4G which makes it easier to use up data.

I'm on an unlimited data plan, so generally leave WiFi turned off, this improves battery life significantly on my lumia 925, for receiving emails you don't really notice using a slower network, but you certainly notice the frequency of charging dropping. This is probably the only reason I'd look at a larger data plan than 500MB.

Ironically at home, I've got a box that uses my broadband to get the signal, so if I wasn't unlimited I'd get charged by 3, for data using my own broadband, which would be a bit unfair.

I've always found that battery lasts longer if on WiFi rather than on 3g. Unless you switch to 2g.

Tesco do offer 4G on their network (o2)

Agree that 500mb is not a lot.

I did say that I thought 500mb wasn't massive ,but for those of us in central city who don't watch many videos on their phone there is WiFi everywhere and 500mb is a decent amount if not watching video

got my wife this phone last month. she hates the battery life and it's quite heavy with the wireless charging coil inside it.

I did give it heat for the deal. TBH public WiFi is usually slower than a 3G or 4G connection so I tend not to use it

Wow on 4G you could get through 500mb very easily if you were not careful

There is an option to cap your bill at £2.50 so you can make sure you don't go too far over

I agree but when loading text pages with images its not a lot of time and when out searching on my phone I am generally sitting and waiting for something so in no real rush

This is an outstanding phone and with the 750 mins plan it seems a bargain.

Yes, it is a little heavy but feels top quality because of it. I have found the battery life to be good. Certainly no worse than any other large screen smart phone.

I have this phone and its brilliant.Good solid phone and decent battery life.hot.

Also go via Quidco and factor in £12.50 cashback making this deal even hotter.

SO you are aware, in case it's a feature you need, I am having to sell my Lumia 520 as Skype on WP8 does not allow you to send SMS. Very odd as Skype in now owned by Microsoft! I can send SMS from Skype just fine on Android and Windows desktop, but t is not implemented on Windows Phone and there is no time scale for it to be introduced.

If you don't need this, it seems like a good deal

This deal has 5000 sms texts per month, not enough for you?

Hmmm, good point! (_;)

However, the included SMS are uk only I assume. Skype international SMS in much cheaper.

How much would I be able to sell this phone if I just wanted the SIM? And will I be able to get a Micro one instead. Thanks

Think about the logic, realistically you're not going to turn off 3 or 4G to save battery on a state of the art smartphone, especially if your supplier doesn't have 2G. You might as well have said I find turning off my phone saves more battery.

On every smartphone I've ever owned, turning off WiFi and Bluetooth generally save battery.

What phone did she have before, I've not found many smartphones that can do any more on a single charge than my lumia 925, and don't suppose this one is much worse.

It's more that enough for some. I've used 70Mb of data over the last 20 days. I have wifi at home and wifi I can connect to at work. I've used 1.2Gb of WiFi data over the same time.

Ehm, I switched off 4G on my S4 to save battery life! 3G is sufficient for my needs and 4G didn't really improve my speeds

mjbuckhurst

.. especially if your supplier doesn't have 2G.

But that's a restriction of your (and my) network... for someone in easy wi-fi range a lot of the time, it makes sense not to use up the 500 MB unless no Wi-Fi available. Very different on unlimited plans (and no 2G option) so different options for different people...

Not sure I want to comment on that, as I don't especially want to be banned !

is there a huge difference between this and the 925?

Original Poster

. is there a huge difference between this and the 925?

Not massive but .....
The screen on the 925 is AMOLCD instead of IPS but same res
The camera has an extra lens and some new software (that's probably on the 920 now too)
The battery life has been improved ..,...!probably because the amolcd screen
Its around 50g lighter and 2 mm thinner
They don't have coulerd ones
I think that's most the differences ,but Nokia have probably closed the gap a little with the updates
The main one is thinner and lighter ,but not too bothered about 46g myself

Come on just a few more,ll get me up to 500 for the first time lol

Any one ordered one of these and actually received it. I ordered over a week ago and still not got it yet. Customer services are worse than useless.

I haven't which is peeing me off ,as I have also waited nearly a week ( I purchased before I posted the deal) and customer service being less than useless is a compliment to them ,I can't really explain how bad online help has been as I am not alowd to swear on hear but so far I have been lied to constantly ,being told at one point that i didnt have a dispatch email because i entered my email wrong (the same email that is used as my username when logging in) and forced in the end to contact a premium (20p min) phone line that they helpfully informed me was free from my tesco mobile ,where finally I got to talk to someone who is investigating it and will ring me back sometime in the next 2 days ................the whole experience has knocked Argos eBay off the #1 spot of my worst online transaction ever ..........I could rant more but I will save it for tescos complaint email lol

I gave up and cancelled my order, then went into my local tesco phone shop who set it all up and handed me my nice new shiny phone all within 5 mins. I hope it all goes smoothly from now on cos i dont think i could deal with their customer service department again.

Wish I could ,but no tesco near me and no car so looks like I gotta wait till the retards sort it out ! They have managed to send me an email now a day after ringing them saying they are investigating !!!!!!!! I would laug if I wasn't so ****

Finaly got my phone ...... Advice for anyone getting this that you go to a shop not get this not online as Tesco online is a joke

went into the shop and bought this today. Currently using a HTC One as my main.
In short the screen is fantastic, the colours vibrant and the quality very Sharpe. The sound is very good too. I was very indecisive at the store. The 925 is without a doubt the better phone with regards to size and weight. Just couldn't bring myself to pay another £4.50 for what in essence is the same phone.
Very good phone all in all. If the amount of data and talk isn't enough .. then this deal just isn't for you.
