Nokia DT-601 Universal Wireless Qi Charging Plate

I picked one up from a store yesterday and it was as new, still with the protective film around the edges, but not boxed.

Works flawlessly with my Nexus 5.

I've tried cheap chinese ones which have been hit and miss, this is much better.

They are currently showing 34 available online, and are in various branches.

Got one of these with my Nokia 930 but also bought a cheap plate off ebay for about £7. The cheap plate charges at 1A and the Nokia is only 0.5A and also the Nokia is a bit fussy about where you place the phone where as the cheap plate seems less fussy.

We've got one of these that came with a 930 and a longer one I bought from CEX. Its a good price but this one is really annoying as stuellis said, its a bit fussy about where you place it.

get a Nokia dc-50 off ebay charge very fast and can be used as a power bank

Bought a cheap one off AliExpress for £3 and it is fast, reliable and have no complaints at all after 4 months. I wouldn't spend £10 on one now.

Might be a deal though for someone who would prefer a branded product. Not voting either way.

Not bad, plenty on Amazon Prime with decent reviews for £10-£15 so don't feel as though you need to rush down to CEX

would have gone for this but no stock near me. I have two DT900, sometimes fussy but works well at work, just leave the phone on the charger.

I had a dodgy one back in the day and it gave me a bad impression of QI...
I had to line up the phone at a certain angle and it beeped when it was correct then beeped when fully charged, or if the phone was nudged off charge it would be the same beep.. either way a lot of beeping. Also an irritating LED.
Moral of the story, pay for genuine brand!
(I don't have QI anymore so not buying this but would jump it.. or indeed an ikea table with built in charging)

I bought one of these from dealextreme

It took a lot of fiddling to charge my nexus 5 - the charging plate was very large, the phone needs to be in a specific spot to initiate charging - sounds like the same problem as the DT-601. I found the nokia DT-900 the perfect size for charging the Nexus 5 and Lumia 920, no fiddling required. I think the DC-50 are also pretty great - reliably charge both my phones plus have an internal battery (use as portable wireless charger on the go). RRP is a bit crazy, but can be had as new at cex for about £20

Weirdly that specific one works really well on the Nexus 4.. you just lay the phone square on it but a centimeter above central (which blocks the annoying LED too), and it charges everytime perfectly.

I also built a cheap Metrans one from DX.com into my bedside table:

I think you are the second person to tell me that, so maybe mine was faulty.

Oh my, that looks AWESOME.

I found my lumia 930 was fussy about where you placed it on the pad...

Until I plugged the charging plate straight into the mains charger. (not a computer USB port) now it work faultlessly.

Bought a pair of cheap unbranded ones from AliExpress. They used to sit side by side on our beside table connected to a 5 way Anker USB charger.

One day came home to find one had slightly melted. USB cable had melted too and fused itself onto the charging plate as well as some melting damage to the contacts on the USB charger side if the USB cable. I can't believe it also damaged my lovely Anker charger (albeit one port).

Definitely recommend buying a branded product!

I have a Nexus 5 and it works throught an Ringke Slim case perfectly. I can't link to Ali Express atm as I'm in work and can't access it but its the circular chargers with the brightly coloured circle around the outside. They're probably all from the same supplier.

From what I've read its more likely the Anker port shorted and damaged the cable and the charger!
