What if I want to leave O2 and end my O2 Refresh plan?

You just need to pay off whatever's left on your Phone Plan. Then you can either sign up to a new plan, or leave O2. If you'd like to leave O2, after you pay off your Phone Plan, ask us for your PAC code or give us notice to cancel your account.

If O2 Refresh makes it easy to leave by just paying off your phone, aren't you afraid all your customers will leave?

Get the best out of your battery and do a few charging and discharging cycles first time as described below.

Charge your Phone to 100% with flight mode. leave it on 100% for another hour before unplugging it.
-Now use your phone as usual and decharge it to 0%
-When the phone shut down by itself, it's actually not empty! When you try to turn it on again you will se the big blinking battery on the screen. Wait ~10-15 mins then it will turn on again (once my phone turned of with 0% and I got only the blinking battery, after 10 min I could turn it on, I had 13% left and could use it for another 6 hours! - This was what I meant with wrong calibration)
-Repeat this until your phone is dead (it doesn't vibrate any more when trying to turn it on), now when you charge it, the windows button led will blink for a few minutes
-Charge the phone again to 100% without an interruption and leave it again an additional hour. If the phone refuses to switch-on again after the battery symbol, as mine did, just plug into power until it restarts then pull power to fully drain battery.
-Repeat all the steps mentioned here at least 5-6 times (charging-dicharging until dead-charging- ...) therefore I said it wont work immediately.

How do i update to windows mobile 8.1 preview

btekt.com/new…-it

Effectively you have to sign in to the Windows Phone App Studio with your Microsoft Account details. I did this on a laptop, not via the phone. Then on the phone go to the Store and install the Preview for Developers ap. Once installed launch the Ap and sign in with your Microsoft details and opt in for future releases.
Then, still on the phone, go to Settings > Phone Update (its towards the bottom of the list) and look for new updates. Mine did two or three smaller updates before it found 8.1. It took about 45-60 min in total and the phone restarts between the updates.I would recommend to do a hard reset after its all installed.

How to revert back to windows mobile 8.0 guide

With Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview now well out in the wild, most users have praised it as a big step forward for the operating system.

But it must be remembered that it's still a preview and might have bugs. Sometimes an OS update needs a manufacturer's firmware update to make it work properly.

If you think you're having problems with 8.1 Developer Preview and would like to wait for the "official" WP8.1 release (bundled with manufacturer firmware updates), here's how to revert to WP8 using Nokia Software Recovery Tool.

Seems like it is possible

Original Poster

it is possible i paid the phone plan upfront now so all i need to do when i get the phone is to cancel the line plan.

Existing O2 customers only?

Original Poster

no new or existing i am a existing customer already so when i cancel the line plan my existing o2 sim will go in the phone only wanted it for the camera.

Wow, I can save a good few bucks instead of paying for the phone outright!

And it's for all customers

Windows 8.1 has made the phone a hell of a lot better and cashback paid out last time this was available hotukdeals.com/dea…e=5

I've never really understood these deals, Tesco's Anytime Refresh seems similar in concept but has pretty much watertight terms and conditions (currently in 2/24 months in on a nokia 920).

Very tempted as the 1020 does seem a pretty big step up from the 920...

I took a new contract as i already have a o2 contract already and it all went through fine with this deal i paid the £240 upfront and £13 line rental which i will cancel when i get the phone.

Top deal, I would have gone for it in a heatbeat if I hadnt picked up two 5s in that recent Tesco amazing deal. Heat, and this phone will be supported a good while yet. Nice work.

What's so limited edition about it?
Just the colour?

The 64GB memory.

i don't understand how this is possible.

So you sign up for a new contract, pay off the phone and then cancel the contract and keep the phone?
Is there not something in the terms that say you have to return the phone also?

Not quite sure what he means by the full plan.

how heavey is this?

Not quite sure what he means by the full plan.

Go on their website, select the £13 pm contract and you'll see there are 3 parts, upfront costs, phone plan and airtime. With the £13 per month contract, the phone plan (which is what he's referring to) needs to be paid off but since it's £0, it's free.

Amazing phone and camera. Even better with 8.1.

im thinking about this

its about 389 kwid pay as you go, not a massive saving for the hassle
but i suppose 64gb
screen is not the greatest
and is windows really good?

im used to android? ios was used in the past, preferred android

Just spoke to "Betty".....I said it seems very easy to get this phone for £240....and then use as sim only....she said it is,do you want me to send you the link to get this then? .....so yes.....its a great deal, well done op...

So let me get this right, I can get my 'mate' (who isn't on O2) to refer me to this, then I pay for it using the link in the email they send, but hoping Quidco will work also having already logged into it before i clicked the email link!!?
Then have to wait for them to pay up the bonuses (which will take we don't know how long) before then canceling the airtime after I get the Phone paying £240, and hopefully collect £50 quidco down the line?

Cheers

Surely there must be a contract termination fee, even within 30days? I used to work at a well known satellite provider and people used to get away with having their branded dish put up when it was £200+ for dish and installation privately and cancel down within 30days, but Sk.... oops, the well known satellite provider got wise to this and started charging £60 for install that was refundable after 30days.

Seems too good to be true for this phone..... :-\ "full phone plan" surely means some kind of early termination cost that o2 will add to you.

For those customers who want a new handset before the end of their contract term, O2 Refresh enables them to pay off the remainder of their Phone Plan and end their Airtime Plan with no termination fee.
