It's a pity as I need a phone to tide me over until late January. Might just have to stump up the £50 and buy it outright.

Bought 2 1 on orange £29.95 and 1 on Vodafone £19.95. They ar presents go my inlaws. They needed to send a code to both phones to upgrade them. I have to tell a few fibs to make sure that they don't know they are getting new phones lol.☺️

I bought one as a spare on O2 and it was £29.99 , only coz my iPhone 5 doesn't work all the time, just so I've got a backup fne, it's so easy to use,

I grabbed one of these on the CPW Black Friday deal at £14.95. It was listed as in stock but I received an email that it was OUT of stock and was on back order and would be sent within 14 days. Yesterday (Tuesday), I received an email telling me that it had been despatched and would arrive on Saturday. This morning I received another email telling me that it would be delivered today (Wednesday). It came at 10:20am.

Great value phone,I've got one. Would highly recommend one to anyone.

The expired black Friday deal selling this phone for £14.95 is currently … The expired black Friday deal selling this phone for £14.95 is currently at 779 degrees and this is also a good deal. I have one of these phones. It is fast and has lots of apps available. The only downside is that the screen is not very clear in strong daylight. This is a problem that you will see with any smartphone in this price bracket. The screen is good enough for me to use this phone as my car satnav. An advantage that Windows Phones have over Android phones is that a working internet connection is not needed to use the (free) satnav.

Unless you use Osmand on your Android, more info here osmand.net/ as I do, not just UK either as all global maps available as well.

Still back to this deal and I was looking at one of these this weekend as a backup which could take my micro sim, cheapest I saw in the high street was £49 so this seems pretty hot to me.

I'm still looking for a deal on 830, but this is a cracking deal!

The software you are probably refering to called HERE is actually available on Android and you don't need an internet connection to use it there either:

There are loads of Android apps for offline satnav. I spent 3 weeks in Italy without data on my phone but used the phone to navigate via free app. Worked perfectly.

Wow, thanks for posting that, I have previously briefly considered a Windows phone just to get Nokia maps/drive. I had thought it had been acquired along with the rest of Nokia by microsoft - I'm surprised they didn't.

Any places where this is cheap sim-free or anything where you don't have to have an upgrade code? I am looking to put my Three sim in it

Lucky to get this on the Black Friday deal for £14.95 for my mums xmas pressie and have to say very impressed with it when I set it up today.

Absolutely horrible screens, but... £20.

SuB-K

Will these phones be unlocked?

All cpw phones are unlocked

Can I use Here nav with the phone?

Is this easy to use? Want to get my nan he first smart phone

Very, you can also configure the home screen with larger tiles, to make it easy to find things consistently. Or pin people to the home screen that she might want to call frequently.

Thanks!

Ridiculously cheap, though people do say that the 520 was/is a superior phone (could of bought one in USA in best buy for £30).

I'm still using a Lumia 710 and I really like Windows Phone (though MS have tried their best to kill WP7 by removing good apps and games from the marketplace, and they will do the same with WP8 eventually).

But be prepared for the Android and Apple sheep that won't like your phone.

BTW, it is still £29.95, when exactly does this price take effect?

Window Phone 8 is far far far better. I had to go back and use a 610 for a few days and it was a real struggle.

Microsoft have already announced that Windows 10 will be available to all Lumia phones running WP8 or 8.1. At least for the SIM free versions with country variant firmware.

Pity its Microsoft windows

£19.95 on Vodafone or Virgin

Cold were £14.95 last week on t mobile upgrade.

Could anyone help? My nan & grandad are on virgin, never upgraded, I'd love to get them a smart phone, but my budget is low, lost my job last month, would I be able to take their phones in and upgrade for them? Or do they have to be present?

As long as you have their phone for obtaining a code they send as text and you know their sim card number you can order the upgrade.

When Joe Belfiore has tweeted the fact I might believe it, he needs to announce the road map for WP, to Windows 10.

In October he stated that Microsoft was not willing to talk about about the details of the new merged WP/RT version of 'Windows 10' for several months yet, well into next year 2015.

The tweet you are referring to came from a reply by a unspecifed member of a (third party) marketing team operating the Lumia twitter account, on behalf of MS. Until Joe Belfiore or Satya Nadella tweets it, don't believe anything your read regarding a roadmap to Windows 10 for existing devices. It also much more difficult when Phones are this cheap, Carriers make little from them already, the idea that they set aside part of the profit to support a <£50 Lumia isn't going to happen easily.

Technically I think it may be quite difficult, and it will interesting to see what changes have been made 'supportwise'/(bootstrapping) to the Microsoft Lumia 535, compared to Nokia devices, that may indicate changes that could prevent existing devices getting an upgrade, for starters, the increase to 1GB of ram.

But in fairness, for this phone it doesn't really matter if it gets an upgrade.

Found this tweet interesting by @joebelfiore
@sayonical @satyanadella We have plenty of Windows-specific investments and will continue to! But we need balance here overall.

and this pic he tweeted...enough said, see bottom of pic.

How did you come about then?

Still waiting for the one I ordered on Black Friday, rang up yesterday and they can't send it because they don't have any orange sims in stock.
