Fantastic deal. The phone is a bit poo but ok for a spare or a gift for a child. The tablet is great.
Got this deal in November as part of an anytime upgrade

Is this sim-free or can it be made sim-free?

Wow! I already have the tablet - running the Windows 10 preview (really well)

It's on Tesco mobile (O2), but can be unlocked for a fee.

HOT, but I hate this site, don't need things but I end up buying them, as it's a deal !

Is that via O2 (any idea of cost?) or via ebay?

You are so right I must fight this urge. I only have four tablets and five phones.

Great deal, and perfect if you don't have a tablet to trade in for the usual Linx deals. You could quite easily sell the phone on ebay for £30.

Bought this tablet for my Dad at Christmas, and it's really nice. He sticks it through the TV in the living room and uses it there. So much cheaper to buy than a low-end PC.

The tablet is £70 on Amazon, so effectively £20 for the phone. Good saving if you want Windows phone but they are no good for cashback apps.

Not sure about O2, but you can buy an unlock code via ebay for £6.49.

I bought this a couple days ago at £99 and it's due to be delivered in Thursday. I used £10 worth of my Tesco vouchers to get it a little cheaper - can anyone give me some advise please on if I can cancel prior to delivery and if I would get my £10 worth of vouchers back (and what hoops I might need to jump through). Thanks in advance, Gal

You can probably talk to them via chat on the website and get them to refund the difference

If they wont refund the difference, cancelling the order will get your £10 of vouchers back but it will be credited to your account as points which will come out on your next statement. They will not be re-usable immediately.

I ordered something from Tesco direct after 3 days they reduced the price online. I called them and they refunded the difference back into my account. Give them a call

Hey how did you manage this? I tried but it didn't work... Something about I have compressed windows etc

You can get £33 for the 530 from Cex so £56 for the tab is decent. They seem to break down quite readily though, judging by my Twitter feeds and the forums I read. Don't think they're the highest quality tablets on earth and you might be lucky if it lasts a year. Refunds easy from Tesco in that event though!

Nice deal
Any Tesco code i can use with this ?
Thanks

can the phone be unlocked by O2? if I have a contract with them?

Is the tablet running the full version of Windows?

Don't you get a year of Office 365 too? - that's worth £40/50 if you need it!

Yes.
(If you see a device running an Intel chip, it IS running full Windows)

No. Only Tesco or pay £12 off ebay

Yes but bear in mind its a low power device and have limited RAM, so while it can do most "normal day to day" tasks reasonable well don't expect it to handle anything memory or processor intensive (photo or video editing or the latest games).

You would be surprised! I do both photo and video editing on my T100 (2GB RAM vs 1GB, but otherwise the same). It performs incredibly well.

How is that 'confirming' what the previous poster said? My T100 is identical aside from RAM. Given that there is no discernible drop in performance when the tablet switches to using the pagefile on my 2GB ram setup, I would imagine the Linx 7 would perform similarly well.

I.e, it more than likely could be used for photo editing and video editing (using something like Movie Maker which seems well optimised for low power devices).

Where is that? It shows as £99 to me.

Bought a Linx tablet after raving reviews. All in all I am underwhelmed however what I ended up paying after the £30 cash back (£49 in the end) balances it out. Just so you guys are forewarned the battery life is really REALLY bad. Do not forget to actually switch the tablet off after use and not just standby otherwise it will be gone before you know it. I have tried windows power management but nothing stops the battery drain. Secondly when using the tablet for video streaming and or more than 3 net tabs you will start seeing a lag. This is down to the 1GB RAM installed. Third gripe is that when watching videos at full screen you cannot use the dragbar at the bottom with your finger, I use a Logitech mouse to work it. Lastly the screen is too small for windows 8.1 in desktop mode.

Before I forget please dont buy a Nokia 530. You'd be better off with a 520; Ive used both and believe me when I say this they are frustratingly slow at loading apps. Also the power key housing is prone to caving into the phone leaving you without a power button to switch the phone on. I had to use the camera key to switch my 530 on (two handsets). The power housing sits ontop of the mainboard as opposed to in a side recess which make it weaker than other smartphones.

Solution for 1 - switch off connected standby (takes slightly longer to resume from sleep). superuser.com/que…s-8
Possible solution for 2 - DON'T use Chrome. It's a resource hog. Use IE.
Solution for point 3 & 4 - lovesummertrue.com/tou…us/

I hope that helps improve your experience

Yep. The Linx 7 also has a sub par screen (significantly worse than the Linx 8 ).

yes but i found it to be alright despite the weird screen protector effect and severe backlight bleed
colours were definitely good and saturated but blacks were not black enough
