Hhad one of these since November and its an excellent piece of kit. Only downside for me is its inability to transfer files via Bluetooth, but this will be dealt with when they release the next upgrade.

with 7.8 you can transfer music and images via bluetooth, did it the other day using bluetooth share from the marketplace

Yes bluetooth transfer works now - Google "Zune update trick" to update to 7.8 as realtively quick and easy (about 1 hour as it does it as a series of 3 updates).

Whilst a great phone, the price really needs to drop further following the recent offers on the 620.

and the ability to press a key after 3.2373497465899027 seconds

tedious but I got there in the end

Phone4u does for £119 I think

GF has one, lovely phone. But the 620 at 150 quids renders it obsolete at this price.

To save any goggling the trick is here

I did it yesterday, 3 updates installed before I got 7.8, so time, patience and following the instructions is required but you will get there eventually

Spot on, 620 is a much better buy.

agree above, great phone but at this price 620 seems better

Sorry to be a bother, I haven't really been keeping upto date with the latest phones, but why is the 620 better than the 800? Doesn't the 800 have better hardware?

even better deal if you pay £120 and get the phone and £20 voucher that can be spent in shops/online stores like amazon

Comparison summary of the 620 vs 800

That's the website I checked before posting here. Didn't see the dualcore in the 620 though. Thanks

The build quality of the 800 is miles better than the 620. The amoled screen with gorilla glass is superb. The single core 1.4ghz CPU never struggles and the 8 Meg camera does a good job. I have owned both and would choose the 800 over the 620 personally.

Dont ask you to get time machine but I got this phone (unlock) from Tesco for £110 just before x'mas

How are people getting the 7.8 update? I'm still waiting for mine.

No a google for Nokia care suite and you will get your upgrade (_;)

I had one of these phones and returned it within days i hated that i didnt get instant notifications for fb, twitter and whatsapp etc, so went back to my old phone. But other than that it was a great phone

Love this phone (I have the cyan version), it's the new HUKD San Fran by the sounds of it

Thanks, just ordered one for £130 ( was sent a code for £15 off recently)

Waste of money now that OS can't be updated to windows 8.

FEATURES EVEN DUMB PHONES HAVE BUT WP7.5 DOESN’T
- No bluetooth file transfer.
- Cannot handle USSD codes necessary for prepaid users to obtain services.
- Cannot filter call history into Missed Calls, Received Calls, Dialled Calls, Recent Calls, etc
- No way to backup or export call history
- Does not show call duration in call history.
- No way to edit MMS profile for Operators in the OS. Need an app which is not available in all markets
- Call history does not group calls by contact.
- Cannot set custom sounds for different types of notifications.
- No ringer profiles.
- Cannot send/receive contact as a csv file.
- Cannot backup contacts to PC, only to SkyDrive
- Cannot backup sms at all, not even to SkyDrive
- Cannot save contact to SIM card.
- Cannot change alarm ring tone or use a MP3 file.
- Cannot set alarm snooze interval.

A lot of them issues are fixed in the 7.8 update. The list is from 7.5.

Bluetooth works fine since update, that was the only thing that annoyed me initially. I suppose if you must have a call history that shows you everything fair dos, all I'm bothered about is seeing who rang if I missed it. I keep a hard copy of my numbers as have lost them several times in the past. Love my Lumia 800, only gripe is I only get a Max of 2 days out of the battery (was used to my old Sony Ericsson one lasting a week).

As for WP8, was browsing the marketplace just before and reading game reviews - loads of people were moaning that the games worked fine on WP7 but since they upgraded to WP8 they no longer work, so I'm in no rush to upgrade.

Not entirely sure any of those put this phone in the 'waste of money' category, especially as f1refox points out, most of the major issues have been fixed in the update.

Cannot set alarm snooze interval...that is seriously a problem?! oO ...each to his/her own I guess!

Could you post the voucher code please....

It just shows how half baked this OS is. As to your question try to reason why every other phone has this feature? oO ...each to his/her own I guess!

Anyways it did turned out to be a waste of money, This doesn't support SAP Afaria, which means that you can't setup/configure and access your corporate emails once they implement Afaria. Mine did and now it is on sale!

Easy tiger, was just pointing out that panning a phone for such a minor issue was a little OTT, although it sounds like your corporate email issue is something that people may want to think about. I personally have had no real issue with 7.5 and think the majority of consumers looking at phones at this price point would probably enjoy its wealth of features despite the limitations that you mentioned.

I bought one of these from eBay two weeks ago for less than £90 including postage. It was originally bought a couple of months ago from Phones4U sim free. At the price I paid I thought it was worth a go. However, personally I would not pay £145 for it.

It is still too new to me for me to have developed a strong opinion, but my first impressions are good. It feels well made, it has a very good screen, picks up weak signals and the OS is OK. Howevr, I have been using Android and IOS for years so I really feel the lack of good apps.

The main downside for me is short battery life (but it still gets through a whole day)

If I bought this one locked to any network (say O2, T-mobile, ...), could anyone please tell me is it easy to unlock this phone? and how?

had a windows phone 7 for about 2 years absolute rubbish operating system microsoft needs to get a grip on this as its features are way behind android and ios. At this rate you might as well buy a brick.

My main phone is a Galaxy SIII, I'm a fan of Android but I also own one of these that I originally intended to gift to someone but kept it as a backup. For the money they are excellent and I have never had any problems or issues, the added free Nokia content (Maps/Music) is the icing on the cake.
Also a lot of the features quoted above in the long list as not being available (snooze/call history/duration/bluetooth file transfer etc..) is absolute nonsense. I'm looking at them right now on my Nokia Lumia 800.
