Reduced to the same price as the recent Tesco deal.
Appears to be very good value for money for a 4G enabled device that also has expandable memory and a removable battery.

What's the standard price for this?

This phone has an awesome display and touch. But its successor is just around the corner.

It launched at £380 last November.

4g capable

Have one myself, chose it over the 920 because of the Amoled screen, that has the great always-on clock with the latest update, and goes a lot better with the WP UI because the black that is really black.

Successor is?

Highly recommend! Just ordered this myself! Should get hear by tomorrow !!!

I guess Nagleen was referring to the lumia 1020 (?). I wouldn't call it its successor though.

Successor is?

successor might be the Nokia lumia 825 according to some reports

I tried one of these in the shop. It did have a nice feel and the windows OS is good....but I just felt it was far too heavy for the size of the screen.....

I am currently typing on the phone in question to write this response. I got the phone at launch and have been overall happy with it. It is a decent phone capable of competing with other middle ranged phones. The battery doesn't seem too great though and having 8GB storage is terrible if you like to play Xbox games such as me. Can't stress that point enough, wish I spent the extra money and got a 920 as the 32gb microsd card I have inside can only be used for photos/videos and music. Not for apps and games

was looking to get the 620 but this looks too good to miss

Owned this since launch. Might be a bit heavy, but its pretty robust. Also, can be charged via Qui(not sure on spelling) which has been a featured i have used every day i have had it.
one other less obvious benefit to this phone is a screen replacement is about 70gbp, which is about 110gbp less than an iphone and / or other phones...

cracking phone. Get one!

Good price. If you don't need all the features get the 520.

Gt this as a work phone. It's pretty good, great quality screen and camera. Responsive and fast. Only gripe is
Lack of apps as running WP8. Best feature though is Nokia Drive - brilliant GPS that works offline.

For this price, if I was a casual smartphone user but wanted GPS and a great camera, I would seriously consider it.

Sent it through Flubit to see what discount I can get.....fingers crossed.

Considering paying the additional charge and getting the Samsung Ativ S but not 100% sure...

The Ativ S is a much more impressive option for not much more.

rather get ativ s for 30 quid more lol

Only thing about the Ativ is you don't get Nokia's brilliant software support. Sure you get Drive and Maps but that's it.

This. Other hardware can be absolutely brilliant but only Nokia gives a **** about Windows Phone.

Not sure if you are aware but Samsung have just released various apps for the Ativ S, folders I use all the time, they have also released new lenses as well. I love my Ativ S, battery lasts me 2 days with regular use and plenty of storage options.

And going by Microsoft's disgusting record, this'll be left to wither on the vine like they did the likes of Lumia 800/900 (fantastic phones though, but making sure they couldn't be updated to latest OS was disgraceful)
BUT - I'd love this phone. have to say

Better off getting it from Tesco as you get 179 clubcard points and delivery is quicker.

They won't do that, this phone will get future OS updates for the time being, at worst until 8.1 as they won't be changing the kernal again.

You have a short memory. Microsoft have been developing mobile operating systems for over 10 years - all with virtually no upgrade path. FYI My HTC One X has received 4 upgrades since purchase, one of them today. My Lumia 800 had 2 and is stuck on this version forever. You are also mixing up the upgrades from Google and what the manufacturers/networks provide. With android you get a very active developer community which has kept my original Galaxy S up to date.
The Lumia 820 is a great phone and IMO Nokia produce some very good software extras. but don't trust Microsoft on updates.

£171 on Flubit for me so an £8 reduction - better than nothing.

Bit annoyed its a Mini Sim as the current sim I have is full size and i don't want to cut it up.

Does anyone know if Orange would issue a mini sim for free for this Nokia - they seem to want to charge for Iphone mini's but i couldn't find anything about other phones.

I got one from Orange for my Lumia 920 without any charge. Mind you the phone is lockked to Orange/EE so i don't know if that makes a difference

You can hack and update Windows Phones with 7.5 to non standard firmware versions too if you want to. The fact is that Microsoft made sure virtually all the 7.5 devices got every update all the way to 7.8. You don't get the same level of support and updates with many Android handsets.

The reason you cant go to Windows Phone 8 is that it's a different hardware platform, not because Microsoft couldn't be bothered.

Windows Phone 8 is very secure and can't be custom firmware upgraded - unlike the security mess of Android. 17,000 new Malware releases for Android in just the last quarter...

Microsoft have stated a minimum commitment to Windows Phone 8 platform support until January 2016 - that's more than you get from Google...

"Different hardware platform" ? Hardly an excuse.
Its not they CAN'T - they WON'T

if you have to hack the software then that doesn't count. most lay people won't be doing that.

I'd say theres more rooting their android phones than you may think.
Windows phone on the other hand, no.
The point I make is that hardware changes or no, Microsoft COULD have updated the 7.5 to 8.
They just WOULDN'T, not couldn't

i turned the volume up to full on my lumina and the speaker went pop the first time it rang. windows is a great mobile OS but the hardware is tosh.

I don't think any manufacturer can claim all there products are 100% fault free, surely your phone just had a dodgy speaker component. My Lumia has had no problems at all on full volume.

Agree about WP8 being a great OS, but disagree about the hardware being tosh, especially the Nokia devices which are, in my opinion, very well made.

The nokia alliance is Windows Phone's downfall IMHO, the build quality is just not good enough
