Nokia Lumia 920 for £15.50/mth @ Tesco Mobile (24mth contract)

I don't expect this to get hot as I know these type of deals never do, and the contract is quite limited - however, it may appeal to a few.

Just got this for my mum as she was after a big touchscreen with an easy OS, and has limited actual call/net demands.

A big bonus is the wireless charging as she finds it difficult to insert a microUSB cable, and the call capping means she won't ever go far over her contract allowance.

There's a lot of reviews of this phone online and negaties are the size, batterylife and camera in daylight - they can't do much about the size, but the batterylife & camera have recently been fixed with the Amber update, and in my opinion this is now actually better than the newer Lumia 925.

£15.50 mth for 24 mths = £372
250mins + 5000 texts + 500MB

*I think this also qualifies for £17.50 cashback on Quidco too.

*Updated to reflect new even cheaper contract pricing!

Just got text from tesco as I am eligible for their 4g upgrade. Guess what? 2.50 for 1gb, 15 quid for 4gb lol holy moly.

Then they have ads out saying were not a joke. yes tesco you really absolutely are.

Reminds me of the time they texted me to ay I was eligible for the iphone 4 upgrade and when I called I wasn't.

Plus they want to put me down from my sim only contract with them to something with less than 10% of the minutes I get now.

Mobile company bosses (and some employees) need to be taken out into the streets and shot.

Not relevant to this deal but will definately help someone decide why not to go with tesco. They're a joke.

Cheaper even if you buy it from Tesco i.e. £230 -(possible code to take £10 or £20 off) and an Tesco sim only deal maybe £7.50 which will give you more for your money plus unlocked phone.
Voted neither way

good find, but 250 mins, 5000 texts and 500mb data is £7.50 a month on tesco mobile, leaving £240 for the phone, you could save yourself a tenner and buy the phone £230 sim free from tesco, every little helps!

Actually, when I purchased I noticed that they actually split it exactly as such on their invoice - you effectively take out an interest free loan for £240 to pay for the phone - I believe this allows you to upgrade at any point and just add the excess cost for the new phone onto your monthly bill (similar to how O2 now operate their phone contracts). Unfortunately, my Mum doesn't want to splash out on a new phone upfront, but this kinda hides the cost.

Windows: yuk... Stick to android for apps, amongst other things. But it is a nokia so heat added.

I got to say I'm a recent convert to WP8 and I much much much prefer it to Android (having come from a S3, HTC1 and Evo3D) - I just find that everything works and it doesn't crash all the time. Admitedly, it doesn't have as many apps, but then how many different versions of Angry birds or Battery Saver do you need? All the main apps are there and they all work fabulously.

as a windows phone user for the last couple of years, i shall be going back to android , because i am a sky sports and sky broadband user i cannot get the sky go or sky wifi on wp8, very poor from windows i thought this far down the line that they would have the major apps.

Well im the type of person who hunts for a good deal as a rule , and I think Tesco bring out some good phone deals....
I Joined up with them the other week , As I signed up for a £15 a month phone deal , 500 min, 5000 text, and 500 mb......With a free Nokia 900.........which for me was a great start up to contract phones , Having been on p a y g for years......And thought it was about time I got into the real world, and get a smart phone......No complaints from me........and the data useage is easy enough , if you have b/band at home....as its always on the wi fi .....Hot deal from me.....

Deal's been around for a while

Got to say I was a bit of an Android fanboi, then got this for my Mum and was shocked at how much nicer WP8 is to use - it just feels like a finished product, whereas Andriod feels like a work in progress to me.........anyway, I ended up swapping this for my S3 and haven't regretted it a bit!

Couldn't find a hotukdeals app !??

I agree with all those comments about the OS. I have used iOS, WinP and Android. The latter is definitely the roughest of the three. It's just that feeling of quality you get. Android is the back of the pack there. Windows and iOS just work, flawlessly, whereas Android needs the odd reboot.

Bought Nokia's own silicon cover for this and it is a fabulous fit - almost everybody that see's it doesn't realise it has a cover on........but don't get any colour other than black as the coloured ones pick up stains very easy.

Bought Nokia's CR15 car holder as it was meant to be universal, and whilst it does work after some modification (I trimmed away some of the foam rubber from the grip), it isn't ideal and has difficulty holding the weight straight as it needs to grip 2/3 down the phone rather than in the middle.

Now cheaper at £15.50 a month. Link for lazy people
Probably worth updating header, or expiring and creating a new thread?

They also have HTC Windows Phone 8S with 500 mins 5000 texts and 500MB for £12.50 a month which seems really good value (after reading reviews, I still went for the 920 - especially with the extra apps that nokia provides).
Another link for lazy people

Buy the phone on eBay much cheaper
