Nokia Lumia 920 on Tesco Mobile @ £15.00 a month 750mins/5000texts/1GB

We've had a number of threads in respect of the Nokia Lumia 920 with Tesco Mobile but I thought it worth highlighting that there has been a change in the allowances:

Posted before and this is still the same =
£12.50 (£3.50 handset payment + £9.00 Usage payment) for 250 mins / 5000 texts / 500MB data

but the next tariffs have changed, increasing the minutes:

THIS DEAL =
£15.00 (£3.50 handset payment + £11.50 Usage payment) for 750 mins / 5000 texts / 1GB data (previously 500 mins)

ALSO =
£18.50 (£3.50 handset payment + £15.00 Usage payment) for 1000 mins / 5000 texts / 2GB data

£22.50 (£3.50 handset payment + £19.00 Usage payment) for 3000 mins / 5000 texts / 3GB data

Cracking deal, even if it is windows phone

Good deal. With anytime upgrade...

Tesco should start doing unlimited data but not a bad deal

anytime upgrade so is it possible buy now and upgrade after one month and pay £84 for phone, what would be the upgrade deal for other phone e.g. samsung s3

Don't forget £15.15 top cashback

anyone now if they've sorted the soft photo/yellow hue problem?

Technically works out £84 for the handset with both this and the £12.50 p/m deal if you take away the usage price

screw it. After thinking about the nexus 5, the iphone 5, iphone 5s, the moto G... and after saying for ages I'd never get a windows phone...

I've caved. I'm blaming you OP.

bought one last week

minimal usage for me but £9 month contract still beats what I was paying on PAYG + excellent phone for £84
... and a 2 year warranty .

Me too! I think if the 750 mins had been available, I'd have gone with that but I'm told that if I want to, I can change / upgrade the tariff I'm on to another of equal value or more without changing the duration of the contract.

I paid the £84 for the handset up front so I'm just paying the £9 a month. I like the flexibility with Tesco Mobile deals and the dealings I've had with Customer Care over the past few days has been a much more pleasant experience than with my previous network who I'd been with for 11 years and all they would offer me to stay is the same that every new customer can get; I'm not complaining as I think they've done me a favour.

The deal currently includes triple Clubcard points as well if you register your Tesco Clubcard.

hi, newbie here, thanks for all your good advice on this deal, I went for it, just to let you know, I contacted Tesco to increase to the £15 a month-750 mins deal, as I am now an existing customer I got an even better deal of 1000 mins. so delighted, thanks all, only poss drawback for anybody is that you cant decrease your tarrif later on apparently

Really...? I had a long long chat with the guy on live chat before ordering and he assured me I could 'upgrade' to a sim only contract like their £10 a month one... Hmm. Looks like this contract needs a rethink...

Take the link to the deal; scroll down the page to the Still got questions? link: one of the questions is "Can I change my usage/tariff" and the answer is "Yes, to another tariff of the same or higher value"

Yeh just waiting for someone to be free on live chat so I can ask if its possible to change to the slightly lower price tariff, or whether that guy made a mistake. Its not the end of the world, but just a tad miffed they gave me the wrong information when HUKDers who don't work for them know better!!! Tesco should hire us.

so far so good, they've confirmed that I can switch to sim only. I'll update again in 14 days time if i'm successful or not...

But either way, great deal, thanks OP

Worked with Vodafone and EE for me so I'd guess, yes.

Yes, already in and it was 'interesting' that when I called Customer Care, they asked for the serial number of it - amused me a little.

I really like it - the only real niggle I've noticed that whne sending SMSs, the spell checker does not correct the word "i" and in "i really like it" should be "I really like it". A work round is to load English US .... it appears from forums that this bug has been around for some time.

My experience to date is that call sound quality is excellent, far better than many other handsets I've had. It's a shame that the O2 network doesn't have SMS delivery report capability but that was probably more of an annoyance anyway although it was always 'comforting' to know that a SMS had been delivered. Other than that, there's some features I really like.

Don't forget to upgrade the OS to Black as soon as you can and then you'll be able to make use of the Call & SMS filter (allowing you to Block phone calls and SMSs from numbers you don't want to receive them from). I think the upgrade was about 250MB so best that you download over wireless rather than using up half of your first month's data allowance.

Enjoy...

I've just tried a sainsburys payg sim and it worked. So the phone must be sim free as it's a different network to O2. I really like the Windows phone as I don't need many apps on a phone I prefer my ipad for that.

I've just purchased this on contract for my Dad. The phone has come with a sticker on it saying 'Locked to Tesco mobile'. First impressions, coming from iOS and Android is that it is fairly slick and easy to use, although some of the settings are a little confusing. The phone is heavier than my iPhone but not that bad. The only other issue is that the WiFi drops out now and again but there is an update to install, hopefully this will help.

On the plus side the speakers on this phone are really loud!

I updated something, but not sure it was the entire OS to Black, will check later..

I collected mine in store and there was no sticker on the box I got. Looking at some of the other related threads, you'll hopefully find that even with the sticker, the handset is unlocked.

Just tried it with an ovivo sim, made a call like a charm! Unlocked phone makes this deal even hotter!

What happens if you pay the £84 phone cost off? Do you have the option to cancel the contract and keep the phone?

I'm not sure if they would let you combine the offer, but they are currently giving 1000 mins, 5000 SMS and 1GB data for just £10 per month on SIM only.

Mine has just turned up bricked. It takes 28 to get a new phone but you only have 14 days to cancel your contract, and that starts from when you get the first phone, not the replacement. Disappointing. I'm just cancelling my contract and not bothering now.

Trying to buy out the phone contract portion and 'upgrade' to the £10 a month sim only... but seems they're now not as flexible as they let on! Alas. Not a bad deal though, once EE have stopped extortionately forcing me to use my other sim (forced me to pay for 2 extra months at £31 a month, so any contract is better than them!) I'll finally be able to move onto using this phone...!

just saw this thread; hotukdeals.com/dea…556

Seems like people have tried to use this like o2 refresh before and failed, I guess I'm not trying anything too different so it's not too surprising they're not budging... Ah well!

Shame, they say in the questions page that you can upgrade ".. to another tariff of the same or higher value." so if the £10 a month sim only is over the same period, I would argue the case as you are going from £9 a month to £10 a month...unless I've missed something?

I too have had issues with T-Mobile / EE...I asked for my PAC about 3 days before the end of my contract and they immediately charged me an early termination fee even though I didn't terminate until 3 weeks after my oringinal end of contract date. I complained and they said they would return the termination fee but now I've discovered that they actually went on to charge me the same fee again on my 'final' (they leave the option open to send me further bills!) bill.

They said I'd have to pay £345 if I wanted to leave. I still stand by the fact they have pretty decent customer service, but its rapidly going down in my books... If only amazon did phone contracts..!

windows phone.
