Don't expect this to get hot but will be a bargain for a few people on here.

Been looking for a decent deal on the Nook HD and came across this. You can pick these up refurbished from Argos E-bay for £59.99, so saves you £10.

This is a superb tablet although it is an e-reader in principle. If you have the time to root and put a custom ROM on it then it is amazing, It beats most 7" tablets on tests etc.

Even without rooting and romming this is a very fast tablet and well worth the money.

Manufacturer refurbished - “Grade A1 Refurbished - Retail Boxed - 3 Month Warranty” - according to the seller.

Not a lot left so get them quick!

They'd have no choice but to refund on ebay.

I installed kit kat and now have a really nice cheap 7" tablet.

Pay with Paypal and you will be fine. They have to refund you.

Personally Id avoid any 8gb Android devices but ymmv. We have a Nook HD here (in snow) and it's great - it was only £69.95 new though.

Excellent - thanks for the really helpful post. By the way I have scripts and everything turned off so that didn't really work for me but I am sure loads of others have had to change their underwear having soiled themselves with laughter.

But anyway I was wondering if it was via rooting and romming or if they had used androidfornook or something similar - and if this worked etc etc.

oddly enough I'm typing on one right now, nice screen, fast enough, I put nova launcher on it, running stock rom, I will install cm 11 soon, should make it a real sweet 7 inch tablet for less than 50 quid.

Check out the Barnes and noble website for cheap official cases, I got a case for £5.00 delivered today for when my nook HD 8.9 turns up tomorrow

Did you find it speeded up the tablet a fair bit?

OP .. you have mentioned in your Product Description that your Nook HD Tablet Deal was a 7' Device .....

Update your Deal Description please? .
thanx. :-)

The Nook HD is only a 7" device. The HD+is a 9". Or have I misread your post? Will alter the description anyway to avoid confusion.

"Was that so hard"? Not if you know to search for cyanogenmod, no. Not particularly obvious, though, is it?

Sorry - cold. With all the eBay/PayPal guarantees in the world, I wouldn't touch this company again with a bargepole.

Just so people don't get confused - your argument is with Morgan, not Nook (Barnes and Noble). Yes?

Great little tab for the money. Very nice screen and with Cyanogenmod its spot on. No cameras on these though.

Well I could have typed Kitkat on Nook HD for you - cannot stand it when people are so lazy as to ask "how do you do X?" how do you think they found how to do it in the first place?

In answer to the performance question, see here forum.xda-developers.com/sho…395 I found that there was a version of cyanogenmod that overclocked by default which added a healthy boost to performance. Aside from that the benchmarks actually dropped going from stock to other versions although it felt a hell of a lot smoother

Nook is far better unless you need camera

Bargain I'll keep my eyes out for a restock.

very nice tablet specially when kitkat 4.4 is installed, good for games too & can run some power demanding games smoothly which my quad core asus memo hd struggles to play like soul calibur.

Two things that I have problems with, with Kitkat installed:
Sometimes the screen blanks immediately after I enter the pin, and will either do that ad infinitum, or will do it a couple of times before unlocking. The only way if it keeps happening is to reboot the tablet.

The second thing is that the wifi stops working after a sleep, when the tablet is switched back on and the pin is entered. Only thing to do here is turn wifi off and then back on again.

Just received mine. Blows anything else out of the water at this price with kitkat. Thanks to OP for the deal!

Edit: to anyone wondering, it was Snow White and was as new (box was a little rough but that's hardly worth noting).

No worries Shadow-360 - glad the deal worked for you. Still waiting for mine to turn up! Post is always slow round here though.

Have you noticed any probs with Kitkat like the poster above you?

Weird that you haven't had yours yet. Mine was sent first class via RM. Does post even come after 5? Lol.

Has been installed for around 6 hours and not had any issues with the rom yet. It did randomly freeze during a new app install though I trust that is a one off as we've had no other issues. I'm not using the pin option however, just the slider.

I used this guide:

wifi sleep issue fixed by changeing router from wpa/wpa mixed mode to wpa only mode.

Do you know what antony - try and get into the spirit of this site. Whilst you say 'people are so lazy' - which was clearly directed at me and I do find a little offensive - if you knew me you would eat your words - the point of this site is to give others help and in some circumstances advice. Whilst your hilarious 'let me google that for you' post was side-splitting modern comedy - the likes of which I have never, ever seen on here or any other messageboard for that matter - it does not help others by being a pompous fool. I know how a search engine works - and from your other reply it seems you are not behind the door when it comes to technology and oddly enough helping someone out when you could have had us rolling round on the floor lauging our bottoms off if you had simply done another 'let me google that' rubbish in regard to benchmarks on speed etc. You missed a trick there matey. You could have been up there with the comedy greats of David Baddiel, Chubby Brown, Peter Kay, Mrs Brown, Dawn French, etc. You missed out.

But anyway I digress. I know how to use google and what exactly to search for but believe it or not there are a number of results that appear. And this may seem weird but me asking someone that had been succesful and was up and running with what they had done I thought was a fair call to ask them what they used. I have had a ruck of decent advice from this site for which I am eternally greatful and have heated and liked accordingly. And by the same tune I have helped people and been liked and heated. What comes around goes around etc. You may need to work with that ethos yourself rather than being a name caller and unhelpful person.

Peace out Mr White.

Before you fall off your hobby horse, check out how many people I have helped on here with deals and opinions, asking people to use a search engine for a step by step guide is laziness....Peace out Siddas
