I have bought many different things from Argos e-bay and haven't had a single issue. In fact I am happy coz i saved loads of money over the years. I doubt if your experince would reflect that of the majority.

What a load of bull. Bullybull777 had a
problem and we all have to stop buying.
This is Grade A refurbished with a 12 month
warranty for £49.50. The Nook is a great
tablet, I have one. If there are any problems
then the law is on your side.
Great post. Hot and thanks for the post.

Had a problem a while ago with a camera, great service free return label and refunded quickly...
You will understand when u buy something and it needs returned... Or ask them a question...
It's not only me, 2 of my friends bought the acer tablet wouldn't hold charge and they tried to say we didn't charge it properly + other person must have dropped it... I'm only passing on an experience... If yours is good then fair play but mark my words if your product goes tits up u will see
This is a very good tablet, an excellent screen for TV, movies etc. Read the reviews.

Can't go wrong at this price.

(BTW, I have bought refurbs from many sources and never yet been disappointed. Mostly they are items someone has bought new, changed their mind and returned to store, good as new.)
Does the tablet run on Android?
Great tablet, I got one for this price from Morgan computers and don't regret it at all (I originally was looking for one with a bit more power) for 50 quid you can't go wrong

Does the tablet run on Android?

yes but a nook'd up version so looks nothing like stock. Believe can root to enable this though if that's your bag

It sure does and it also has the google play store.

Anyone worried about Argos ebay, if your purchase arrives as described and you have no problems there brilliant...and since the recent ebay feedback shuffle about this month, there overall feedback and DSR ratings have improved by miles...ahem (_;)
Excellent tablet with a great IPS screen (1400x900) and surprisingly good speakers. Cracking price. Plenty of alternate ROMs out there.

Heat!

mentioned on a previous thread that Argos refurbs in my experience are great! this is also a great tab for 50 quid! screen still stands up today and fast enough for basic tasks. a real bargain!

Now Tesco refurbs, that's another story
..!

Weight 320kg.

Too heavy, I need to go to the gym first.

Never had any problems with Argos refurbs and returns (in fact argos have saved me a fortune, and have been brilliant if things have gone wrong even months later).

I was a bit put off by the lack of any camera, heavily altered android and apple-like display shape...but decided to bite the bullet and went for the 16gb model for 54 quid.

Argos website says this has a microsd slot supporting up to 32gb cards as well by the way.

Totally agree, bought one a few weeks ago at the same price, excellent tablet.
I've had charging issues with mine (intermittent) which are well documented on Nook forums. Other than that it is a good tablet.

Nix nook. Get a kobo. Nook are finished search online.
I love my nook hd - it's super light so I can carry it anywhere. Fantastic screen. Just a good all rounder.
Definitely worth putting a standard android rom (like cyanogen) on it.

I would strongly recommend considering the 16gb version for only £4 more. I thought 8gb would be fine because you can add an SD card. But apps (and some data) can only be installed on the internal 8gb memory. And since a few gb are already used it very quickly fills up. So I've ordered a 16gb from argos.

Yes - this model of nook is discontinued which is why its so cheap (and the accessories too). But that doesn't make it any less of a bargain. It will continue to work just as well.

isn't that the resolution of the HD+ not the Nook HD which this deal is for?

Argos, or the infamous D&J Henry?

Out of the three tablets in this household the Nook is the one I like best. One of the others is an ipad retina thing, but I guess the ap*le victims will tell me I don't know how to use it properly. Any thought that the Nook might be a better device could not be tolerated.
Hot for the device. Cold for the seller if it's D&J H.
Bought my son one of these (new) for his birthday almost 12 months ago, and he absolutely loved it. Had no problems with it at all.

Until the battery died in it last week. Gone. No response at all in it. Oh well, still hot IMO.

The + refers to the screen size - they are both HD, the HD+ is bigger.

No need if you paid by card; despite what the store might say.

EDIT: & about time we had cheapo batteries for this great tablet. One outfit has been hogging the (overpriced) limelight for too long.

I have a Hudl and been really disappointed with it. This any better?
While the items are not perfect perfect condition from Argos ebay this is reflected in the lower prices of the products. Only buy if you are able/willing to return till you get an item of satisfactory condition.
Have one of these, rooted, great device. Was pretty good before hand, though you can't install anything outside Google play, no amazon, Humble bundles etc.
Not sure if there's much left but the 5quid accessories are good, the transforming case is great!

I bought a Refurb HD+ 9" from an ebay Company....it was delivered on Wednesday,I checked it out,and within 20 minutes it was going MENTAL as if it was a DVD in FF picture search (stuff flashing across the screen) I went On-Line to check the issue out,and ended up at NOOK On-Line chat, and explained the problem in the hope of some advice, but they said I should return it to THEM for replacement. It was in the post (Local Newsagent collection point,Pre paid by NOOK) the NEXT DAY. I tracked it (UPS) to the Netherlands where it arrived last week, signed for.now I just need to drop them (Nook) a line (On-Line) and ask when I can expect to receive my replacement. They (Nook) said I should return it to them for replacement after I had given them the Serial number. I explained I didn't get it from them, and it was a Refurb but was told it made no difference,as it was "Company Policy". I explained the situation to the ebay seller to cover my back,SO...Fingers crossed I SHOULD get a replacement within the next couple of weeks.
