Excellent, these proprietary cables are hard to find!

Since this is Nook UK it should but even if not it's still a good deal. It's the cable that's hard to get hold of not the power supply.

No, it is the US plug. Blackwells sell the UK/us kit for £17+

I've found any old stylus will do. I use one that I got for my smartphone that cost only a few pence from eBay. One can get a 99p one that'll do the job very nicely indeed

I was seriously considering a Nook HD+, but if it is using a PDMI connector, then I am out. The PDMI is basically an inverted iphone dock connector, which the added bonus that they seem to break, bend or just generally fail all the time. Has been the death of many a Dell Streak.

What a stupid reason to rule out a tablet.
There are no issues with the connector on the Nook failing. Its far more sturdy than the usual microUSB or 2.5mm din jack connectors on other tablets. The only issue was the availability of replacement cables at a cheap price . But £10 for a cable and a 2 amp USB charger is not so bad when you are saving so much over an equivalently specced tablet,

Received this Univeral Power Kit today from Nook and it has a British plug. Very good for £10 delivered.

I guess I must be stupid then. I think the tablet is a fantastic deal, but I am no longer interested.

I accept that there are not many reports of the port failing, and they may have addressed the issues the Dell Streak had with what appears to be the same connector. But it is too much of a risk for me

You may well be right.

Good find, ordered thanks

it's not overpriced at this price, this is due to the charger itself being 2A so you could charge an ipad from it in reasonable time

Got this yesterday. Comes with a uk and European plug adapter.

That's it - I'm buying. I shall carry it with me just so I can help A*ple victims everywhere.
Hmm. I think I will need a T shirt & a large battery pack.
Perhaps my 'Big Issue' days are over

This ships from the Netherlands & arrives via courier. Fine, but they could've halved the cost (or better) if shipped from the UK via Royal Mail.

Anyway I suppose, £10 is better than £15/17+ & good for some peace of mind.

Oh thank goodess. Toddler just broke mine (very inventively) and for a minute I thought I wasn't going to be able to get one.

How long does it usually take for these to arrive? My order is still showing as in-progress? Placed order a couple of days ago

nvm - my order came today by UPS. Nicely packaged too

The connector is propitiatory which I agree is a nuisance, because it supports HDTV video out with a different adapter
