Nook Simple Touch £29.99 @ Sainsbury's stores,

Found 30th Apr 2013
It looks like the Nook Simple Touch is being discontinued in Sainsbury's stores, currently £29.99 in the Staffordshire area.

I'm not sure if this will be national but it's certainly a steal at this price.

A couple of links to extend the abilities of the Nook:

*EDIT* I didn't expect this deal to get so hot. Thanks for the heat!

There will still be some stores with stock, call ahead before making a journey to save yourself the petrol

I've already bought one today but might pop in Sainsburys later to see if there in my local and get another one with my nectar points for the other half.

Just bought one from Sainsburys in Denton / Manchester....they also had the Glow Light for £69.99.

Thanks for posting. Great back up at that price

These are just for reading books. It doesn't strain you eyes like reading from a computer or tablet screen. If like reading books I'd recommend one

If you after a tablet I would recommend getting a tablet I believe you can root these and use android on them but I can't see it being anywhere as near as good as a tablet for surfing the net, playing game etc just better for reading.

Just reading books. It's not like a tablet at all. Much easier to read from than a tablet and battery life is exceptional though.

Not sure about this model but most ereaders have a very very basic browser. Completely unusable for normal browsing but fine for downloading a book occasionally.

oh dats great stuff. thank u guys. really appreciated advice. still gud 4 books. gona still order though great at this price. thanks all of u. xxx

Thanks, just talked myself into having one

Don't see you sharing this deal on here??

They can be turned into tablets - I've seen them in use in warehouses for picking lists etc.

Toolstation use them like as well.

I'm using an original kindle (v3) - any reason to consider the nook over that?

If you can find one considering low stock it's cheaper in Argos:

Out of stock in the 10 nearest stores from where I live. But happy I have ordered at sainsburys, fab price.

Got 2, thanks!

Yeah 99p difference isn't exactly much but it's still an indicator that this is around about the going rate.

I've reserved one for pickup at Argos but if I couldn't have done I might have ended up getting it from Sainsburys.

Ok newbie question can you use Kindle books on it, I'm guessing no and if not where do you get the books?

Online ordering is working

You can root it and then install Kindle apps from Goodle Play.

Rooting is fantastic and it becomes an Android Tablet. And it becomes phenomenal after rooting.

Currys/pc world also have them for £29.
My local store in Leamington spa has still got about 7 in stock !!

It looks like they everywhere is £29,
For example, Currys

BTW, awesome deal OP.

Anybody knows why shops are shedding Nook stock? What's wrong with them?

Just got one online. Bargain for the price!

Do you need a light for reading in the dark?

It does seem cheaper in Currys, they are in stock.
