I posted this a few days ago and it went back out of stock quickly but not before I got a load of abuse ...
I'm going to ignore the abuse and post now it's once again back in stock because I know that there are still people that want to buy a Nook before the price goes back up so to them this is a deal.

Proves my point about putting "back in stock" in the title of a deal.

Not your fault

I posted a deal for a reconditioned Xbox 360 from Game for £20 quid and it went OOS in less than 10 minutes.

I had a stock alert this morning for the PSP Base Pack at GAME for £20 quid. I ordered the one I wanted, confirmed it e.t.c.. and came on to HUKD to share the deal. Checked GAME and it was OOS - turns out I'd bought the only one !

Thanks finally ordered one of these, heated.
This is how much they cost now!! These constant 'deals' for the nook's are basically stock alerts!
In stock...out of stock....in stock....out of stock...(currently in stock...or is it....) am feeling nooked (?) just reading about it.
Thx OP.
I got one before, they are definitely worth it.Barnes and Noble are getting out of the tablet manufacturing business. according to CNET
If anyone is interested I believe they have these or similar for £29 in the very sale.
Just bought one thanks. Is there much difference between this and a kindle?

It doesn't have the Amazon Kindle store so you can't access books from there (Although I believe you can root it to get access to this).

Oh, and it doesn't have "kindle" written on it... I think that's about it

The Kindle store is by far the cheapest for most books (according to the latest edition of Which magazine). Given the price difference though, you are still going to be better off getting the Nook.

Kobo quite often do discount codes for their books and I've found there are occassions when the book is cheaper than Amazon (but Amazon will price match). Normally though - for the odd chart book I've looked at prices have been similar.

However if you use your PC to download books - you can buy books from Amazon and convert to Kindle format using Calibre etc I just buy from the cheapest place and don't really care if its Kobo, Amazon, Googleplay, etc

Thxs OP. I've been waiting for JL to have some again. Just bought another, for son this time. They are slick devices, better than either of my Kindles.
Once you hack it you can go to sites such as Project Guttenberg (?) and download EPub files (?) of "old classics" for free direct to the nook in seconds. I got the Great Gatsby on it and its really smooth.

I got the lighted version of this and hacked it, I really like the machine, its a shame the hacked browser isn't quite smooth enough to use regularly ( to read the news websites, etc)... It doesn't let you use the buttons to scroll, etc, have to use the touch screen and it mutters and jumps when scrolling a page down (have tried the mobile sites too) just about okay for catching the headlines really.

I hope someone brings out a new version of that hack cos it could be brilliant to have the Guardian and Mail apps working nicely. One great thing you can do is access your Google Drive, so if you have documents on there it's very easy to carry over.

The lighted screen is really nice to read in bed by the way, very easy on the eyes.
It is really worth rooting your nook. This is why the nook is a steal at this price.
A bargain regardless of how quickly it goes out of stock.
Thank you, heat added.
I bought 1 last week from Argos where they are currently £29.99 great little gadget.. worth checking out if they have sold our at John Lewis
They have lots in stock at Asda Leamington Spa.
