still £69 online ... can't see why there would be such a reduction instore ... are you sure it wasn't the basic simple touch without glowlight?

Bargain if correct.

Doubt it is ... without proof it's just a wild goose chase.

Thanks for the help Goonertillidie.

Was this shown on the shelf at £29.00?

The price is exactly as the Nook Simple Touch. Maybe the cashier thought this is the NST rather than the glowlight?

No stock in the Derry / Londonderry store here in Northern Ireland unfortunately. Great deal if you're able to find one.

Yes it was. And it is definitely nook simple touch glowlight.
Already using it.:)

Good spot.

Is this the SD card slot model? I think the newer ones lack the slot so are harder to root (if that's your thing).

Either way a bargain - will keep an eye out.

Yes it's have a microSD slot. Just ordered one. Not much space in memory without it.

Got mine, brilliant deal, thanks Surdi11

I may have just found the next pressie for myself :). Nice one Surdi11

Cracking deal . Ive got a basic model, if i can get to sainsburys, going to upgrade for sure

For all the doubters, as goonertillidie says, it has been £39 for a while (I bought one a couple weeks back), so probably now shifting last few - I may get another and take back with previous receipt and use the difference if they have one of the reduced Now Tv boxes!

None in ten stores in my county

Awesome find! Shame it's not national but well done anyway. I love my Nook ST - got it for the same price but would love a Glowlight.

Cracking deal, I also love my Simple touch, would love a GlowLight at that price

Tried calling all ones local to me and none in stock (Was told at one they expecting more stock but not sure when and whether it will still be on offer when they do re-stock)

I just got one from sainsburys heaton so it must be national!

Good price for this but Nook HD is much better!

Marked at £39.99 in my local, out of stock.

marked as this price in my local but OOS. Given the embarrassed reply from the staff member I'd guess as with most supermarket offers theyd cleaned them out and none made the shelves.

Picked one up from my local Salisbury and they still had another 3 left in stock.

Deal is legit, one left in Haringay now. http://i.imgur.com/lyoU8MV.jpg

Picked one up tonight in Aberdeen Berryden store. The assistant didn't believe that was the price and thought it was mis-priced but scanned at £29 and also picked up the nice leather cover for a fiver down from £10.

There were 2 more left in stock when I bought mine.

Thanx just got one from Wigan store, they still had one left if anyone else lives nearby

Might as well pay a bit more for John Lewis new. I had a chip in my screen and they had a new one and mine taken away for free. Can't fault it

4 left in the Leicester North sainsbury's as I just bought 2, need to offload my original nook now I have that lights up (excitement builds)

Fair few in Hedge End. Saw this but didn't think much of it as I'd prefer a kindle myself.

Absolutely amazing price for an excellent eReader. I bought mine a few months ago for £89 = £20 cheaper than Ama - notpayingany tax - zon Kindle. Heat added.

I just love my nook simple touch! Filled with free library books! Kindle books (use calibre for DRM & change to ePub) kobo books , nook books and Foyles ebooks. I wish I had a glow light so I could read in bed without keeping husband awake as he can't sleep with side light on. Will go hunting for glo model thank you. If you buy books from Nook store you can lend to friends at touch of button or just plug your nook in friend's computer to lend any books without DRM.

Clearance Bargains (the Argos outlet) in Corby were doing the Nook Simple Touch Glowlight e-readers for £19.99 a couple of weeks ago, they had loads at the time, but not been in since.

Though I didn't like the design and feel of it much, which of course is an entirely subjective thing rather than fair comment, these units appear, from long term customer reviews and articles, to damage easily, as in if something presses up against the screen while its in your bag, or the screen takes a small knock, it can cause a slight 'dent' that isn't visible at all until the device is switched on, at which point the light-spreading sheet on top of the actual e-Ink screen produces a very irritating, distracting, light spot, catching the light from the LEDs arranged along the top of the screen.

This seems to be a fairly consistent irritancy with this model, with long forum threads, with even people who insisted they were very careful still seeing any number of light dots and returning theirs for a replacement and then demanding refunds. At the price, though, if you like the look and feel of it, it still feels churlish not to rate it, so... Hot!

Anything around Birmingham?Hot like hell for me got basic one and its f*** A for real readers

Hardly a useful comparison; they're two completely different devices designed for completely different purposes.
Tbh I don't see the point in the Nook HD; it's either an average tablet, or a poor e-reader.

Good e reader tbh!
