Could someone explain what the use of this would be? Thanks

I use it for my IPTV subscription on my fire TV as BT are now blocking IPTV on the weekend (at least for me)
Other people use it to avoid the headache of getting a notice from their ISP is they download a movie using torrents
It basically works but hiding your internet traffic from the ISP and from other sites by giving you a different IP address

How did you install it on your Fire TV? I struggled to navigate the app with the remote.

Thanks, but three days is not long enough. It takes weeks for you to find out how good a vpn is.
How often the connection gets dropped. In my experience, they all get dropped (and what happens when that happens, does the vpn part just get dropped, so what you are doing is exposed, or is the whole connection dropped)
Or you simply can't connect to all or some points of presence.
Or whether the connection leaks (so your ISP (for instance) can see what you are looking at
And there is the knotty question anyway of whether the vpn provider keeps logs....

You can keep signing up to this , Just with another email if you need more time to try it. I dont use NordVPN and the only time I have is when I was trying to use American Netflix for which i found it dreadfully slow.

3 days should however give you enough time to see what features about the VPN and App has and if they work. Also most DNS leaks are down to the individuals computer or browser leaking. For example I have found Malware bytes premium to interfere with OpenVPN connect and casues it too not connect at all or leak the ip out.

As for logging, realistically no way you are ever going to find out if they don't log however they make the claim they dont.

Install these PIA app on your phone. Install the app Apps2Fire, also on you phone. Link phone to FireTV and move app over. Read up on Apps2Fire and you'll be sorted.
I've used this for a couple of years works fine on android and Windows and see to get some decent speeds was better then PIA which I'd used previously
Or you can get vpn unlimited lifetime subscription for about £40.

Whilst PIA works on Fire TV, I couldn't get the Nord VPN working - sometimes they need a touch screen. The instructions are the same but realised the deal is for Nord.

I found PIA a bit faster than Nord although both are still really good.
Signed up just before Christmas when this was on and got the cashback from TCB.

Service has been ok, but iPlayer often stops working when connected to UK server which is annoying.

Application layer vpn not as useful or powerful as data & network layer. Useful for browsing a site no doubt but it's better to have the whole network vpn'd at a higher level to stop any possible leaks and for more seamless experience from application to application.

Yeah depends what you are doing

If accessing a site blocked by your internet service provider then opera is great.

If wanting to do any p2p then need full vpn
Got this deal last time and my TCB successfully tracked without issue.

Cannot fault nord works perfectly!
I'm not going to comment on value per se, but i have used Nord for 6 months or so now. Compared to lhe last two VPN's i have used it is good. Negligible, if any, impact on speed (BT Infinity 2) Some UK based servers, stupidly simple interface, flexible enough options for most users, reliable.and reasonably priced. I can only recommend this VPN.
Thinking of taking a chance on this one but dont fancy forking 70 out when I've been paying monthly in the past. Have been using Torguard for years but it's so hit and miss with them. Most of the time the software shows that it is connected but thats it, it does nothing, won't let you browse or anything so a complete nightmare.
I have this but only get 30mbps which is a huge difference to what my isp give me of 200mbps, have mentioned this recently and some say it’s due to my isp (virgin) although I have read reports it is generally so, but saying that, I only stream with my vpn so is good enough.

I had this with my previous VPN, VPN Unlimited (KeepSolid), as well as DNS leaks, shoddy privacy policy, no Killswitch. It was appalling, and i jumped ship halfway through a 12 month sub. Based on my personal experience I would recommend all stay away from that particular service.
I can't ever remember a server drop-out with Nord. Thats not to say it possibly hasn't, but i use it everyday (autorun on bootup) and if it has occurred, it is so infrequent that i genuinely cant remember it. If i had to level an observation it is that it does seem to take a few seconds to sort itself out on opening a browser for the first time. It could possibly be a browser run/config thing as i dont remember the pause when i used to engage the VPN with browsers already open. Either way, you are talking about a few seconds (on my lappy's at least) and then it's been utterly solid. Will almost certainly renew when the sub is up based on sheer reliability alone.
I think I paid this much for a 2-year subscription about 11 months ago..! If I had the cash to spare, I'd happily add the extra 3 years to my account for this price! Sadly, that will have to wait... 🔥
Been with Nord for the last 5 months and it's been rock solid. I am specifically running this via a dd-wrt open vpn router set up to my TV for hulu and netflix. I have not had to change the US server settings so far.
was with them for a week then cancelled purely as i have 200mb connection and after connecting to this vpn it dropped to 20mb. did try a whole range of options from nord tech team but didnt work well for me.

Was great before but since a few months back I found it's virtually useless. The Dutch and German servers are gone and it only has slow Ukrainian ones. I guess that's what you get for free...
Been with them for a few months. Much more reliable than my previous provider, PureVPN.

Some dropouts mind you (well, they're not technically dropouts, it's just that occasionally no data flows either way from the connection after a while, so you have to disconnect and reconnect to fix).

The obfuscated servers work well...

I had to cancel my subscription as lots of search results were missing on Google, some sites that I mainly use were blocked, speed was much slower, etc. This is good for a dedicated VPN router with a torrent/tv box connected to it, but I can't see how general browsing would benefit from it, unless doing some really dodgy shit. By the way, a 2 year plan without a coupon works out cheaper with 42% cashback on TCB - around £1.3/month - no need to thank me.

I signed up earlier last month. Ive had the same issue with nord and pure and its not just bbc iplayer, its even certain shopping sites. My guess is some sites just dont like it when a user is connecting to them via a vpn. You could try different servers or modes but if it still doesnt then you can stream iplayer without it or download the videos then watch them.

So far im finding it okay, speeds are good (I get my full my bandwidth so all good there). Do get the the occasional drop out from time to time again I had the same experience on purevpn too but on that it was a lot worse.

Can't do port forwarding but I can live without it as I don't really need it nowadays where as before I really did to get around things so to get them to work.

Do you have to install it from the opera store?
I signed up to Nord VPN’s 3 year offer in December for £71.50 and managed to get £28.88 cashback (already claimed and withdrawn) via TopCashBack. It might not be guaranteed, but if anyone else wants to give it a try, it’s worked for me. Do make sure not to use other referral links to get to the 3 year plan page (I managed to find it on their blog at the time).

But it is impossible to pay for any VPN without using a card or paypal, so they will have a record of that and if each one of them (personally) faces imprisonment unless he/she reveals, then obviously he/she will show what they have.

Check that your network or wireless physical connection dns is NOT set to the router address! And you need to reset it every time your connection is dropped as, in my experience, this reverts to that if you drop the connection, This causes a very obvious DNS leak. It needs to be set to any public DNS open server.
