One problem with this... Despite being manufactured by Nofrost, it hasn't actually got frost-free functionality.

Freezer is great until you have to purchase freezer bags to stop it freezing up every 6 months depending on usage! Oohh and these cost approx £20-25 direct from the manufacturers.
We have a Norfrost, absolute rubbish, had a new lid and seal and still gets thick ice around the top. Rubbish quality
just got rid of one of these on friday and replaced it with a better (albeit more expensive) one because the one i had the compressor broke and was running 24hrs a day and only freezing down to around -4 degrees all after about 16 months

id avoid and save a little more for a better quality one
To be honest - each to their own and all, family members have chest freezers and you never know what's buried at the bottom of them. Far better in my opinion for an upright with shelves? Just my £0.02.

Easy mistake to make. It's only due to owning one in the past that even I knew ha ha.

I own one now...
Frost-free is a must though. The amount of ice that builds up is shocking.

what exactly are freezer bags? I have a 360 litre chest freezer (saves us an absolute fortune as hardly ever have to throw food away now and always cook in bulk).

I have to defrost it around every 6 months but it only takes an hour or so. Why would 'freezer bags' prevent it frosting up?
Hi

The freezer is called a Norfrost! It has freezer bags in a central compartment which must be changed to prevent the built up of ice inside the freezer. This is the technology of the Norfrost freezer so you don't have to defrost the chest freezer as it doesn't have any ice......!

Failing to change the bags every six months will mean that ice will start forming inside the freezer just like a conventional freezer and the freezer will have to be defrosted.

Hope this info helps!

thanks for that - I think I prefer to defrost myself rather than pay extra for bags which take up room as well
