They are the best and you get 10 devices to install if I'm not wrong.

The VPN might come in handy for my IPTV

I have done some research and they collect logs and because they are a US company they pretty much watch everything you are doing. Regret buying it now..

Any way of getting to stack with current subscription?

If you speak to their online tech support they will add you new code to your current subscription just before it expires (I have been doing this for years now). They are really quite helpful.

just so people are clear, you can stack subs as long as it is exactly the same product you are using, Norton has many variations of this so just double check what you are using already. (edited)

Linux is probably you best protection from almost anything apart from a targeted attack. The more important decision is if you were comprimosed - could you recover?

Work on the principle that whatever you do to protect yourself it will never be 100%. Disaster recovery not a particular brand of Av should be your focus.

Are anti viruses still needed in addition to windows 11 built in defender?

Depends if you are a good boy or if you can always spot something dodgy … if you are a good boy and can always spot something dodgy then crack on with Windows Defender !

Hmmmm interested purely for the vpn as I was using PIA but didn’t renew.. would this work in the same way?

EDIT: I bought it through fear of missing the deal and absolutely struggling to get the VPN installed on my Mac.. it just will not connect. Thought maybe AVG was causing the issue so uninstalled that but no joy! (edited)

Norton used to be King of anti virus software, until people started noticing that it slowed their devices down a crawl, does anyone have any recent experience with it, is it better now? (edited)

Not really, even Windows defender has caught up to it recently

Have this of work. Best part is the Firewall detecting inbound and outbound apps and remote connections. antivirus has daily updates. it's decent if cheap and you download plenty of files.

Recently updated an existing installation by buying one of these product codes. Doing this was complicated as hell. Norton's procedures seem to always take you to a screen where they ask you to pay for the update.

If you're updating then you'll have an account where you can view the devices on which your crrent/previous installation can be seen. Underneath each device is "Add a new key" (or something similar).

    Been using it for years
I have it running on a 10 year old desktop, it does slow it down when doing a scan but in day to day use it’s fine.
Installation…create account add payment details then install, when its finished go back into account turn of auto renew and delete payment information.
If you already have it installed go to help top right then enter product key bottom right, if you’re doing this for the first time with a new product key you will have to go through the installation bit above but once the key is registered you shouldn’t have to do this on any other device that got it already installed. If it is not installed log into your account and download it or activate if your using the app.

Ive currently got 360 Platinum which expires in Nov 23. Can i buy this now then when that lapses add this key at that time, so will i be able to hold onto it for 9-10 months then use the code, will it still be valid? If not will i get a refund from Amazon?
I can't add to existing sub as its a diff product. Any help much appreciated, thanks as on the amazon website 1 guy said yes then the other said no

I've just been looking into AV programs as I haven't read up on them in while and wanted to be upto date. I've just found a extremely worrying thing and thought I would share the information.

Basically a company called Gen Digital Inc. (formerly Symantec Corporation and NortonLifeLock) is a multinational software company co-headquartered in Tempe, Arizona and Prague, Czech Republic. The company provides cybersecurity software and services. Gen is a Fortune 500 company and a member of the S&P 500 stock-market index. The company also has development centers in Pune, Chennai and Bangalore.

Its portfolio includes Norton, Avast, LifeLock, Avira, AVG, Reputation Defender, and CCleaner.

So basically be very wary or don't use or install any of the above now as it's all the same company and possibly some shared code.

why wouldn't you install any of them? being part of the same company doesn't mean that any (or all) of them are bad
