Norton Internet Security 2011 3 PC (Free upgrade to 2012) - Amazon - £9.99

Norton Internet Security 2011, 3 Computer Licence - effectively £3.33 per computer.

To install Norton Internet Security 2012 visit updatecenter.norton.com/Man…011 download, and follow the on screen instructions. You do not need to have a previous version installed for this to work.

The 2012 version of this boxed product is £32.99 on Amazon, so effectively £23 savings.

I know some people will vote this cold as they prefer free internet security/anti-virus such as MSE, AVG, Avast etc. but this is still a good price for the product.

Expect this to get very cold
Has anyone seen a new movie called "Source Code" ?
wouldn't let this anywhere near my system, even for free. cold
This will probably go cold because people on here will compare it to something free that doesn't do as much as this.
Reminder to all, this is a 'Deal' site, not a comparison site, so ask yourself if you can get this cheaper elsewhere ..... Not whether you have an opinion if its any good (DOH!)

This is cheap
I agree with the guy above, it's horse-dirt the Currys salesman rips of ya granny for, but it is cheap(er).
I keep hearing that Norton have improved a lot over the last couple of years, anyone actually used this year's version or last years?

Or is it like me, been stung in the past and wanting to believe they're not going to change?

There again, while it's a good price, I don't think many people really need much security, just some common sense - ah yes, that's why so many people need a decent security software package
Very Hot from me, cheapest its been, never had 1 problem with it, using it atm, don't mind the critics.
I'd rather buy the Kaspersky equivalent. Nortons, no thanks. Heat added for price though.

Just need to wait for a deal on it, as mine needs renewing soon.

I have been using norton on all my laptops for the last 6 years and have found it a lot better than it used to be about 10 years ago. I bought a brand new laptop last year which had mcafee installed on it. Even after updating it I had a trojan horse and then a virus on the laptop which meant formatting and starting a fresh. I then put norton internet sec. 2011 on the system and have never had any problems since.
I have AVG on my desktop and that had let 3 trojan horses onto the system. Next opportunity I get I will be removing it as it is also so system resource heavy it's stupid.
This I will be voting hot.

I found Norton to be very slow and clunky in the past. However Last year I picked up Norton 360 when i brought a new laptop. I was very impressed. Didn't hog system resources. Sits there in the background doing a great service.

I'm looking for a new Norton 360 code, if not I will get this.
Is 10% off a DSG extended warranty a hot deal? Well you can't buy it cheaper.

Then that's the rub here. For virus protection this is not a hot deal. For getting Norton it probably is. The two things are different but the way Norton is marketed is aimed at conflating the two. Hence the confusion in the way people here react to these deals. Both are partially right.

So if you must have Norton ignore the doomsayers, if you just want the best value virus protection then do listen to them ... lets live and let live and not try and remove choice.
Causes more harm to your computer my computer wizz friend says i got it free with new laptop last week at pc world and my friend has told me to put the brand new sealed box on ebay !!

Well said, this is cheap for 3 PCs and Norton is so much better than before

+ heat
I started using Norton again last year after a long break using Bit-defender, Kaspersky and freebies like avg, avast etc, I'm pleasantly surprised with Norton, now much improved from their truly awful offerings of the past. Good price heat added.
****. Use MSSE for free...
COLD - MSE is free.
Ye pretty pointless paying for these things now, unless your a business and you need someone watching over your security.

haha, i don't know any business that would buy this.

Most have Sophos, MS Forefront, CA, McAfee etc.
used to use AVG Free, but after using Norton for a year would not go back, nominal price for this unobtrusive and very capable softwear, you get what you pay for.hot from me.
Lol! The comments about Norton are so outdated!!! You probably all still think Nokia have the best phones. Where have you all been for the past three years. Norton Internet Security superb for the past 3 years and it's now so much superior to free software the magazines don't even compare them side by side anymore. They have tests for free software and tests for paid for.

It's also the most efficient anti virus software on the market so no longer slows your computer down.

Buy this and you'll protect your computer far better than the freebies.

Yeah, course it will.

No thanks, think i will stick with MSE for FREE, Windows Firewall for FREE and a little thing called common sense which is also FREE.

Never in 20 years of using computers have i ever paid for AV and never in 20 years have i been infected....plenty of quarantines but never an infection.

I use Norton 360 and recommend it highly. Runs lovely in the background without being obtrusive and has some great features. Do not confuse this with the Norton of the 90s.
It's amazing how much a bad reputation sticks - this is NOTHING like the old Norton products. It's critically very well reviewed and, as a Norton 360 user, I can recommend it highly.
I can appreciate people feeling safer using a paid product, but for the average joe, it really doesnt offer anything of value over Security Essentials. If you like an unconventional gui to tell you everything is OK, then go for it. Thats all you're really getting

Or because we compare it to something that does just as much as this, and more, while being free and using less system resources?
no thanks not even for 99p im sorry cold

Nice try Symantec Corp Employee.
I wouldnt install that crap if you paid me the £9.99

Symantec is a company that buys up good products and then rotates the version numbers each year and adds bloat, this will make your PC run crap slow and bug you to buy a subscription for pattern files

Why on earth any idiot would install it when Microsoft Security Essentials is FREE, does a BETTER job and doesnt make your pc run like crap, do not give symantec your money they are a protection racket nothing more. If you want computer security they are the last place you should be looking

As for the print mags 'endorsements', print PC magazines have been struggling for cash since the internet became popular, its well known and accepted truth that they do 'promotional' reviews for cash

Whilst Norton has improved, it's not 1 iota better than the free options like MSE BUT it uses a lot more resources to do what it does.

In fact - unless you're a berk you don't really need AV software at all. If you don't click those flying squirrels or "Download Free Porn here" links or random emails from people offering you millions, you won't be troubled by viruses/spyware AND your PC will run a LOT faster

Common Sense > Software...
lol Norton.

Get ESET NOD32.
MSPreacher

lol Norton.Get ESET NOD32.

Yea i'd go with that but given i'm working on someone lappy right now with 2010 on it this will come in very handy as they want latest Norton, so thx OP.

All1
cracking deal - good spot.
For those who are voting it cold.....maybe you should give it a go. Its been well received, updates frequently. Sure the versions in around 2008 were a little memory/resource intensive but the latest versions are great.
i found norton slows down my computer.
MSPreacher

lol Norton.Get ESET NOD32.

Do you have a deal for a tenner...this is not the place to tell people to pay £40 for something they can get for free.

As for this deal...it's hot. I have a friend who likes Norton and this should save her £15 or so...which is what this site is all about.
jrw

COLD - MSE is free.

agree, why pay for virus protection that clogs up your system
jrw

…and a little thing called common sense which is also FREE.

Hey, you should post this under freebies!
Norton is terrible, next worst would probably be McAfee.

Seriously if you need an antivirus/security suite grab some proper stuff like ESET stuff or go with microsoft security essentials, do NOT buy this.
Going back to my earlier comments looks like id have a job to sell latest version on ebay ???????
This whole you get what you pay for argument is silly when AV is concerned. These products often come with firewall solutions which are included in Windows anyway.
On a home computer as long as your not into dodgy things, a free version of MSE or AVG will do you perfectly without paying for this bloat wear.
Finally, a Norton Product that no one whinges about....get AVG its free people say ...Er nope, I been working on computers for a very long long time. Everytime I get a friend calling me up to fix his or her machine...guess what do have a free virus checker and a virus. The current Norton since 2010 version, its million times better than the resource hungry app for Pentium 90 days.....9.99 is a steal. If you have free virus checker, have ago at this it will surprise you, especially tells you some one from with romania IP address has just tried to hack you....check it out voting hot
