I've taken a couple of things back to Poundland and get replacent or exchanged for something else without any fuss.Just because its £1 doesn't mean they abide by different regulations

spend a couple of quid more and get this one

Thanks bigflump !!

I might get one for my neighbour and post it to him anonymously with a note "please use this". He has hairs about 2 inches long sticking out of his ears nose and his eyebrows are wild. I wouldn't care he is clean shaven and tidy (apart from the unsightly hair)

agreed with Lakeside - useless
bought 1 for myself and dad - both are now not working after 1 use

Haha sounds like they'd be better off with garden shears

I bought the Argos value trimmer a few months ago and I can confirm that it's pants ..

I only used it once and it's stopped working ever since...

You're better off paying a bit more for a quality trimmer as mentioned above

Disturbingly I noticed the very same this week about Prince Philip. His wife is loaded yet his eyebrows are like glued on shredded wheats. I wonder if this is the neighbour dianneNE refers to.

When you get to a certain age the hair just goes wild.

The wife bought me a nose and ear trimmer for Christmas.

Hurt like hell, but they're much smaller now.

Have had one of these & £ shop ones - they are both exactly the same as far as I can tell and utterly useless.

Bought a Wahl one from Ebay for about twice the price and has lasted well over a year.

£1 at Poundland and been workng great for 6 months.

Cheers. Went for this one instead

Got the Phillips set from boots yesterday, was half price from £13.99. Same set as in Argos but used my advantage point to pay so it was free!

exactly the same thing was in asda slightly cheaper ive bought several as they dont last long at all. probably best to avoid and invest in something more expensive and robust.

My Argos one I bought 6 months a go is still going strong

Had one of these and sorry but they're rubbish. I also have the Phillips and it's the best I've had.

These really are useless even for £1.28

these are awful. you get what you pay for - and these are cheap through and through.
please keep your dignity intact and avoid...

For the exact same one £1 in poundland

Agree completely, this does ear, nose and eyebrows and is still working after a year. Don't waste money on anything else.

Phillips one is great! Can also use the attachments for eyebrows too :-)

I've had this one for about 2 years I think, use it once a month or so but still working just fine...am I just lucky?

Just pull them out, like a real man...

Not to be sniffed at!

I've had this for years. Works a treat.

This is total crap, dont waste your money.

I had one of these and the end bit became loose after I dropped it (from low height mind you). It was impossible to put it back again to function properly.

Rotary ones are crap. Mine didnt break its just crap... 2 mins just to cut a single strand of hair.

Wouldn't pay 10p for these rotary cutters.
