Found 21st Mar 2017
Hey guys,

I've been looking at the new XPS 15 for a while now but sadly cannot afford it even after the discount codes I've found. Below are two code that will take £200+ off the price. Be warned the "save2" promotion code expires midnight on the 22nd of March. Enjoy!

save2 - take £100 off all XPS machines.

GJ7$8DW5?37HL$ - takes £169.90 off all XPS Machines. (This code expires on the 30th of June 2017.

Let me know if anyone decides to purchase!

*EDIT*

It appears that the "SAVE2" code is no valid until the 29th of March so I will be updating this post.

Avoid the 4K screen. Unless you have eyes of a hawk

Most youtube reviews say the 4k screen is the best thing about the laptop

Just got the 4K through work. it's a wonderful screen that is very useable with W10 scaling.
Those two codes appear to be stacking on all laptops over 899. Good find
My 3rd replacement arrives in the morning, 1st 2 had defective 4k screens, 1st had a stuck pixel and I refuse to pay that much money for a duff screen and the 2nd screen turns red when you shift away from centre. God knows what the 3rd will be like as I have had so many issues with the 9530's, 9550's and now the 9560's

It wouldn't be so bad if they were capable of sending out new spare parts but they will only ship refurbished parts. Unacceptable for a brand new 2k laptop.

I think if laptop #3 shows up with a fault I will ask for a refund and make use of the code stack as I get another £100 off what I paid.

I have the 4K screen. (I have the xps with the gtx960)But depending on what you use it for. Some apps do not scale correctly or look right

Lovely screen but totally depends on what you use it for.

Yeah I've noticed this even on a 1080p 13.3 laptop running windows 10. Not sure if it's because of the two GPUs or windows. Never had any of these issues on a Mac. Although I'd mainly buy this to run Linux or does put me off moving back to windows and selling MacBook.
Also how the hell is this deal going cold? This is the best performance to price professional laptop around. As a a user and poster of Apple deals I just expect cold because of Apple hate and cost even with savings. Proves my theory never to look in the hot section only because this is a better deal then any other laptop at a fantastic price off! I remember when this was a savings site not a fanboy or cheapskate site!
would it be worth buying the i5 8gb ram 1tb version at 1124 after discounts... (i ask bcoz i bought the new insperion 15 with i7 16gb ram and 2tb hdd recently and thinking of returning it now)

the million dollar question. I'm personally tempted by the 1080p Matte display for battery and because I like Matte display for text work. If you do video or photo editing then get the 4K. Or if just for media get 4K. Gaming as well better on the 1080p.

My Dell XPS 13 (some common parts with XPS 15) went straight back. Worst laptop I have ever had the misfortune of trying to use - annoying adaptive brightness, flickering screen with HyperV enabled, sleep intermittent, coil whine, wifi not auto connecting, and a completely unusable trackpad. I understand several of these are the same problems on the XPS 15.

I agree with this because it really depends what you're going to be doing with the laptop. Gaming 1080p is the better option but it should still be taken into consideration that you can change the in game resolution to 1920x1080 and should give better frames (don't quote me on that ahaha)
ALSO ----> Don't forget the fingerprint reader palmrest

That's what I was thinking! I thought this would go hot in all honesty. The laptop creates a nice blend with buisness and gaming while also having some great aesthetics. The only thing that deters is the price tag.
If i could get it I really would ahah
I would go i7. Ssd 16gb and a 1080p screen. The 4K touch screen is nice but to reflective.

Also an XPS 13 user here, 9350 model. The adaptive brightness is a little irritating but only when I'm trying to use terminals with a black background while the sun is shining from behind the laptop. Never used hyperV (vmware workstation here). No problems with sleep. Coil whine is definitely present. No problems with wifi. Best trackpad I've ever used.

The XPS 13 is the first laptop that's satisfied me, as in I don't feel any problem is so great that it needs swapping out for another model. Worst things are the lack of touchscreen and the coil whine but it was the 1080p/i5/8GB/256GB model for £700 so good value.

Urm, 128GB is sufficient for usage (windows, programs, documents). If you're looking to store videos, music etc on your laptop then that's entirely up to you to judge. A 600GB music collection will never fit on a 500GB SSD. Also since videos, music etc don't need to be present for the laptop to function, don't need speedy access and are huge maybe look at external HDDs or network storage? They're cheaper per GB.
Who actually downloads music now ?

But I have a spare external 2tb for anything I do not need for day to day stuff on.
The deal is cold because the majority of people buying a laptop on here don't want to spend over £300 so I wouldn't worry about it
When i enter the codes it says they both require further information???

No??
I believe there may still also be around £60 off an extra year of warranty that expires on the 22nd. 30 quid for an extra year. Yesterday I used the save2 code which stacked with a student discount code to get an i7, 512gb 1080p version with 2 years warranty for £1377. If there was quidco I forgot about it :P just hoping I don't get a lemon, heard a lot of horror stories but also a ton of praise from those who got good ones.

Not so much of an issue with kaby lake, I think 2 people mentioned it out of several dozen owners on the notebookreview forums and one was being extra picky as you couldn't hear it at the normal sitting position, lets face it who uses a laptop with an ear on the keyboard

I had horrible issues with the Haswell and slight whine with skylake.
Dell are refunding me due to ongoing issues with redshift as you move away from centre of the screen so I just saved nearly £100 reordering thanks to these codes, best I could do last time was get a 10% off via the VIP club after emailing them and waiting 4 days!

Such a shame every review sample had the Samsung PM961 with stonking speeds and since release everyone gets a lottery of Hynik, LG or Toshiba all running around 50-70% of the Samsung speed. It is like buying a 2 litre car and being handed a 1.6!!!

I've heard that some people have complained about the slower ssds being sent instead of the Samsung and been compensated. Is there any value in trying if we end up with a slower one? (Although I'm not sure how much real world difference it will make for me personally)
Did anyone get past the require further information message?

This laptop is amazing... can't fault it.

go for it, they are screwing everyone at the end of the day. No one's had a Samsung one on the NBR forums since the initial release.
