Thanks for the heads up, I just ordered this 12.1" Laptop novatech.co.uk/nov…002
Better value than a netbook IMO.

Heat added looks a good deal.

You need to Highlight that you have to pay for an operating system so for £74.74 for Vista Home. It is like the old way of giving prices Ex VAT so they look less. I am sure some people will get an unpleasant surprise. Though it is nice to be able to get a laptop without being forced to pay for the microsoft system.

Seems to state that its a 15" in the description of that 12" laptop

Considering the spec, this is pretty decent really. Probably butt-ugly, but beggars and choosers. Heat for you OP.

I got 12'' on order acknowledgment, so I am not worried at all about getting anything bigger

Does not have to be, Novatech's laptops are mostly made by Clevo - decent manufacturer

Can you post up pics and a review when you get it? Looks pretty good value if you put your own OS on it.

It's three times the weight, so if you're happy with it then a netbook would have been the wrong sort of machine for you in the first place.

The 2.5kg is definitely a typo(not the only one ).The most likely it's Clevo m720r that weight 1.83kg ( unfortunately has 4-cell battery, in addition I can be totally wrong :)) with chipset Intel 965 (X3100) .
T7250 v Atom ....hmmmm:) .

Your bang on mate. Picked mine up from the post office today after a missed delivery on tuesday. It is the M720R, and i'm installing windows 7 RC on it as we speak. Not had much time to play wth it, but so far it looks pretty good

EDIT:

Damn, having problems with the DVD drive. It won't recognise DVD's at all, but has no problem with Cd's. Googling the drive "Optiarc 7530A" it seems to be a common fault. ******, looks like it will have to go back, I'll be phoning Novatech tomorrow to get it sorted. Grrrr.

How come I can't see the specs on the site?
